Especially if you don't know them. But if you have a tank that isn't well-geared or on top of his game? Then you are just banging your stubborn head against a wall by trying to DPS on top of heals.

Which, as I point out, is entirely your decision to make. Meanwhile, I'm finished with the dungeon and back in the instaqueue healing another one. YMMV.

BTW, I had the same experiences with the DF in WoW. I always play healers or tanks. And I've always found it best to adapt TO my PUG instead of expecting it to adapt to me. Besides, if I feel I am a *good* player-- then I can make that work much more easily than expecting the other players to do it for me.
I am not sure why you are set on calling me stubborn, but whatever. I am not going to play crappy because I am with crappy players, I'll continue to keep the team alive and output as much DPS as I am able within that context.

This is just incorrect. Lowering team DPS never results in a faster run.

IF you are unable to keep yourself alive when the tank loses hate, and you wipe, then sure. Though, it's not hard to just keep yourself alive while you DPS.

It's quite clear that some Tanks despise that behaviour too and just run with the "You can tank it then" mentality out of sheer annoyance. It's not unlike those players who decide to dictate for the Tank just how many mobs he shall pull at any one time by grabbing them themselves and forcing the tank out of their comfort zone by making them hold more than they had intended.
I am sorry that you feel that way. I've never had a tank complain about my behaviour as a DPS or a healer. I generally make the runs as smooth as I can for everyone involved, including the tank, while also killing things as quickly as I can. Sometimes this means I am holding hate, sometimes it doesn't.

Anyway, it sucks that it seems so many of you play with such horrid players, and/or are horrid players yourself. This is why it's great they allow us to queue in to expert with friends.
