I understand and agree with what you're saying, but I think what Ferth meant is come the release of the Job system anyone who already has Archer capped will have a capped Bard once they unlock the job. No progression in the job unless you happen to be ranking Archer at the time of release.

An easy remedy would be unlocking more skills for a job through quests rather than solely through the class rank. I vaguely recall them saying that would be the case.
