    All Final Fantasy games are their own universe, there is no "canon" like you would find in the Marvel universe or the like, because there is no connection other that poor excuses for crossovers. Ravana is canon in FFXIV, and nothing else so far (as far as I'm aware anyway). As for their armour, it is very similar but again, that's a mere reference and nothing more.

    Wow, I'm an idiot, you mean Vagrant Story, how did I miss that? D: But again, Ravana is just a reference and it's not the same Ravana from VS. All Final Fantasy games are their own thing. There are even references to Berserk in FFXIV, but that does not mean Berserk is now canon in FFXIV, just a reference.
