Why do so many people FAIL at dps.

Thank you everyone for replying in this thread. It opened my eyes that I should not speak about this cause i have no right in doing so. Through the bashing and hard criticism, im no better then the people I complain about even with my best efforts, in the end, Im just like them. Sorry for bringing this up. While it certainly wasn't your intention, the missteps you made in this thread actual answer the question on the main reason why there are so many bad dps pinky_pie. Sure, there are some people who don't give a damn, but I'd like to believe that the majority of bad dps are like you, people who believe they've mastered a job but really have no idea how many mistakes they are actually making, and with the game giving them no indication that they are actually aren't actually doing very well nor why. It's also the reason i really hope the beginners hall is done well, and actually prefer what's been mentioned about it compared to the parsing dummies they also mentioned.

Its hurtful that I am to be in the same classified as those that afk dps. That im just like them and get bashed when doing my fullest when do not.

Pinkie I just wanted to say your only truly as bad as the people you complained about if you give up. So what if you had logs thrown at you who cares just keep working to improve because it is worth it. If you keep improving the people you group with in the future will appreciate it. I mean I know I am not the greatest dragoon in the game and I am not going to get world top logs but that doesn't bother me I will raid just the same and clear content just the same. People will be heartless on the internet so all the more reason just to keep up with what you are doing and improving and having fun. Hell if I let every person that called me bad or w/e keep me down I would have never beat A3 and 4 savage but I ignored them and kept working at my dps and my ability to handle mechanics and it worked out. Sorry if I rambled off topic there but basically don't give up keep improving and have fun that is all I wanted to say.

Everyone is the same, we are all bad, that truth kills my fire.

Everyone is not the same. If we were, we would never have disagreements on this forum. The truth is that we are all bad at something, it matters not what it is. In this game, the truth is that the best measure of good/bad is can we make someone else smile? I could quote a pony episode at this point, but I suspect that will not work. Since it is the correct season, let me instead quote a line from It's a Wonderful Life; "No man is a failure who has friends."

Ahh, see this is the problem. You have excuses for yourself, but you're still willing to assume the worst of any "bad" DPS you're with. They must be afk! There could be people who caught you on bad days, and just assumed you were a shit DPS. Maybe even complained about you on the forums. Is that fair? Why not try giving others the benefit of the doubt, as you would want them to do for you.

Do we really? I mean, look at the attitude in the opening post and the e-peen numbers war that it sparked. It brings out the worst in some people. Jerks will be jerks, sure, but at the moment a fair amount of jerks don't have access to parsers (PS3 / PS4 / don't know about it / don't want to risk ban) and therefore can't run their mouth about numbers in content where it doesn't matter. I'd like to keep it that way.

I"ll remember that when someone spams one skill next time and nothing else, I won't question them anymore. I'll just let them do their thing for now on. *sigh*
