talked to a gm in game a bit ago
I got screen shot set up in my blog as i was given permission to do so, I was going to post directly on here but I don't want to be ban since I can't edit the names out.

I'll post my blog link ina sec, i have /tells turned off due to a rmt tell i have in the middle.

I also reported a person selling a plot on my server the same gm got my call and asked how was they selling it I told them over pf.

which was taken down shortly after my call.

the gm in question also told me to google "ffxiv housing sale situation" to give ppl sites that are about this.

I would assume one of two reasons:
1 - GM tells can't be filtered out, and all other tells were
2 - it was faked and made in /echo with the color changed

I don't know if #1 is an actual thing, but it wouldn't surprise me. I do know that #2 is a thing.

According to his post, there was an RMT tell sent to him in the middle and since he can't edit the names out, he decided to turn off the /tells in the chat.

I believe GM conversations override all those types of restrictions (such as when they send you /tells in dungeons).

I cannot confirm my suspicion 100%.

Edit: It would have been magnificent if the GM would have said "yes these people selling for gil..." since a lot of people are in denial and keep saying these responses are for RMT. Or also he appeared in front of you and you had your screenshots taken with him in sight because as Stouter mentioned and as mentioned by OP, /echo can be used to fake /tell conversations. People in denial would be insistent on it being faked or people in denial can fake and troll with their own messages. Note that /echo is in your announcements tab not in the standard chat filters.

If you can, can you send me screenshots of the entire thing, like this, even with the RMT? I can help edit it for you. You just need an image editor like paint to do a quick squiggle over the names.

Not only does that look one sided and like a clever use of /echo, that's not anywhere near my experiences with GMs who ask more specific questions, have better grammar and use different words of reference. Could be real, but looks a lil too shady to be. Especially since the GM told her to google it. A GM is not going to tell you too google a vague subject for an answer, they would give you direct links to official SE sites.

Plus why is someone with only lvl 30 jobs who cannot even buy a house yet so invested in the housing situation anyway? Sending GMs harassment reports about something you are completely locked out of anyway sounds more like harassment than people selling a commodity. It's like sending a GM a report of dungeon harassment in a dungeon you have never been in and cannot enter

I was there. I saw Azazura's conversation with the GM about the housing thing. She has tells turned off due to the RMT spam, so her side of the conversation doesnt appear in the tab with the GM. she was reporting a separate thing from a dungeon and decided to ask the GM about the housing situation.

I apologize and I am sorry that you have felt so strongly about what I've said that you cried. Please, please, please, PLEASE listen when I say that trying to point out how others would not believe you does not and did not mean that I think you lied. What I did was try to point out why -others- would not believe you. For some people you need to whack them with a brick wall and leave no chance for them to say "but!"

These are the types of people who, in a murder court trial, need to see video evidence with no trace of tampering of the person stabbing the victim until they died. These are the people who still say that the GMs read these inquiries and think that the sales are for RMT.

I was not accusing you of being a troll. I was not accusing you of faking the conversation.

I was trying to tell you that for these people they will need rock hard solid proof that the GM policy is "no sales for gil".

Oh u not making me cry dude, it was more a reference to others.

There is no way fore me to tamper, bad thought I did provided evidence I can't tamper with my screens I don't got a PC and my tablet is a pain to use the pain program on. Heck it was a pain in the ass to even post those screen shot on the forums I have to code the html syntaxes by hand and copy the thumbnail like to post. Not an easy presses on a ps3. If it was a fake I wouldn't even bothered

Point blank I didn't fake the convoy, I just turned tells off and had echo off. If I was not trying to rush I would shown the echo was off but wanted to post the blog while it was still fresh.

According to gm it against the rules, all gm are being told slowly due to it being new apparently, if you get a gm that says no its not chances are they haven't been notified. Not all gm work in an office, some world from home, and not everyone reads their e-mail right away.

The reclaim was about more than just not enough houses to go around, nobody ever thought it was going to fix that by itself.

Many housing wards were becoming open world ghost towns. Several subdivisions on my server had more than a third of the houses reclaimed. That's after people were given ample warning and a free login weekend to save their house. Left unchecked for another year or two, it would have become a much worse issue. What's the point of a neighborhood with no neighbors, and how long should the servers support legacy dead weight?

The two viable options were making housing instanced, or reclaiming plots. Instanced housing would have upset paying customers, reclaiming upsets non-paying former customers.
