Materia Changes in 3.2:

I have 574 Brass spoils right now. I forget how many per Grade 5 you need, but that's still going to be a good amount I don't need to spend gil on later.

3.2 gear will probably have a higher chance to convert into Gear 5 materia as well, and once some of the Diadem changes come into effect I'll go back in and farm it more for tokens (only really going in there to gather for now)

Also, don't forget that Grade 5 cannot be overmelded, so you don't need a lot of them. Grade 4 will still be the ones you need to get a lot of.

That is still quite a lot of gil, gil you didn't have to spend before. It will be quite sad when you "lose" more money then you actually make doing dungeons.

1. As a person who got all Savage Aim/Might IV for their Relic, why they hell would it turn people to do any of those things? There would be spiritbind parties like there were back then. If you resort to gil buying you should have your account ban hammered so hard.

2. That's how most MMOs work? Gear is a relevant feature of the progression.

Then the dungeons need to reward a lot more gil, or have Materias as a common drop. Of course gear will always be replaced, but it seems like its adding complexity just to make it more complex. Changing the system after years is what gets people to quit.
