The REAL reason that Anima sucks

SE already said that this was all tied to the mistakes they made with Alexander Savage and that in 3.25 the relic questline should correct itself and feel more worthwhile. The apologized for it and that's basically it.

Granted, I still think they should have nerfed the questline to be a little easier given how it was delayed, but that's neither here nor there.

But also an outdated weapon sadly with the new tombstones in 3.2 and no updates to the relic until 3.3 or close too it.

True but that's several weeks of saving up whatever the new tomestone is that I can spend on armor instead while probably only 3-5 weeks after that Ill be able to upgrade my Anima weapon. In the end Ill end up better equipped by half way through 3.2 than if I didn't have it at all (ignoring Alex wing 2 drops).

I swear people feel so entitled to everything in this game. I'm sorry, but if your not looking to raid in anyway shape or form, then I really don't know why you need a 210 weapon at all. Just grab the coolest looking weapon you can find and go play glamour somewhere. A 200 or 205 weapon is more then enough to last you til the new addition of weapons. The difference between 205 and 210 is just barely better then racial stat differences. Before relic was introduced, some could even argue that the 205 Bow for Bards was actually BiS. And besides, all current tier content can be conquered without having either a 210 or 205 weapon. 210 is just for min/maxers. What makes the relic truly special is that you'll be able to customize it to your specific design and therefore it SHOULD infact be the most difficult weapon to obtain as it will be the most powerful weapon.

The first relic step in 2.0 was indefinitely better than this one. Instead of having an interesting plot about the weapon that's being forged and it's identity behind it, all we get slammed face-first is a grind on old content with no backstory to the weapon we're creating.

...uh... There's no backstory because you are not recreating an old weapon of legend A-LA 2.0 relic, you are building and inventing an entirely new relic that will be your legendary weapon. You know, maybe hundreds of years in the future some adventurer walking in our footsteps will be doing their own relic grind to recreate this original weapon. Complain all you want about the story, but it might help if you actually READ it first.

And just as a side note - I loved a lot of ARR dungeons, hunts, trials, and things. I am GLAD they are continuing to give me a reason to do them other than nostalgia. I had been sitting at 2K poetics for ever, lamenting the wasted code.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you. It's a grind, but it's not bad. I got all of the crystals needed for step one in about three hours, and I've almost finished the second step within a day. I don't see what all the complaining is about, if you think it's too grindy, then don't do it.

Right now I'm on the longest, most expensive step of the Relic quest. I've only gotten 4/80 required materials total so far. I'm afraid to know what we're going to have to do next, after getting the weapon's third form. If it involves materia, then I might be lucky, because I've been saving all my materiae since the Zodiac days, just in case I needed them for the new relic.

The first two steps aren't what people are having issues with, it's the final stage.

Congratulations because in those same three hours today I have yet to get a single crystal. Yeah I'm sorry but whatever developer thinks that everything should be locked behind a ridiculous rng system is a lazy developer that should have no business in the industry

Oh and i just re-read the quest text seeing that you have to have 3 of EACH of the six crystals. Yeah you know what, i'm just going to go complete a zeta, because it would actually be faster. Sorry SE, you know you have failed when completing an entire quest chain for the old relic, is actually faster then the first step of the new relic. Absolutely disgusted.
