    Yoshi - Players who "Like" Challenges would ALSO like to obtain a Relic Weapon

    Very few people have the time to conquer the hardest challenges in the game AND complete the relic questilne. Yoshi - I think you are missing the appeal these weapons have to your playerbase. There is something appealing about a weapon that continues to evolve and is not tossed away every other patch. Relic weapons are the famed legendary Final Fantasy weapons (Excalibur, Masamune, etc.). These are weapons that almost every Final Fantasy fan would like to obtain. Thus why ONLY develop them for players with a ridiculous amount of time on their hands who are NOT looking for challenges?

    I think the solution here is simple. Keep the relic questline as it is - but add alternative paths to get to the ultimate destination. An alternate path might be "Complete all of the Extreme Primal Trials and the Binding Coil of bahamut without echco and under their original item level caps." Not only does this make earlier content worthwhile again but it keeps a large chunk of the playerbase busy that does not want to spam beast tribe quests and farm gil on a daily basis. Neither path are easy - but this way you cater to all of your players as opposed to just the ones who do not like challenges and have lots of time on their hands.

    You miss out the point. This is something you do on a year. And if you support this game. If you play other stuff well keep crying (rofl). However... the requirements for this one is way over the board.

    The point of these weapons isn't about getting them quick, even if people have more time they might get done quicker, but that doesn't make them unobtainable by someone who doesn't have the same amount of time. Everyone wants one quickly, but as he has said they are time based and made for long term progression.

    Increased progress ratio over harder difficuty challenges. Sounds about fair if only the basis of it (the actual Relic Quest) had any difficulty at all.

    As if them being a long term goal was the problem. No one wants them quicker. What the community wants is to have fun. Is that hard of a concept to get? fun content? in a game? to have fun? playing... for fun...?

    There are already enough ways to obtain the relic. You can do beast tribe quests, Alexander, law tomes, poetics tomes, and allied and centurio seals. This gives people a pretty good choice of how they want to obtain it.

    You can still complete all of the extreme primals and coil and get tomes in the process, therefore it's still a way to obtain the weapon, whether it takes a while or not.

    There are plenty of other things to do other than these weapons for fun, if you don't find these fun then go do something else in game, like the story and other side quests, this is for a item only.

    Relics have always been aimed to be obtained casually. The process is fine. As for their use, it could be worked on. Coming from having a relic in XI, these are just a slap in my face honestly, but the process in XI was a bit more demanding imo. The processes to acquire gear in game are actually good, its just the stuff you get is pretty much fluff with no weight behind it. Sure XI's relics for the most part were pretty overpowered, allowing normal attacks to deal double/triple damage and giving you a specific skill for having it equipped, but given all you had to do to get it, it was worth it imo. I'm sure people like customizable stats and some even might feel its worth it but imo its lackluster. It wont really set you apart from anyone in game like it should unless you're 'parsing.' Maybe if they allowed auto attacks to enfeeble enemies automatically or a chance to give you a buff while using skills it would be more motivating to do. Still dont get why people are QQ'ing over the process when its 1/4 of the original relic grind of 2.x.

    The nice thing about these are the fact that yes they may give a minimal boost, but in reality its about a players own skill, they don't need things like relics to be just as good as someone who has one.

    Some people in my FC got their Relics in just 4 days. With some teamwork and planning it is not that bad.

    Aside from that, Relics were only meant to fill in the niche of Grindy Content for people who like that kind of stuff.

    Alex Savage = first set of 210 Weapons available (challenge and skill party content)
    Relic = 2nd set of 210 Weapons (Grind and Solo)
    Void Ark God Dip = 3rd set of 210 (Much later 210 weapons requires no challenge Just upgrade the Eso weapon)

    I don't think it is the Relic Quest that is the problem, just entitled players not understanding what niche it fills.
