I wouldn't worry too much over hoarding seals. It sounds like they'll be abundant. They are planning on putting in "dailies" for the grand companies that give seals too.

What if one of the potential quest to gain the rank of recruit talks of chocobos ? It's not worst speculation that saying there won't be anything.
Interesting that they are using the more traditional 'mount' type approach to it. I was a little surprised to see that we can be dismounted already, and that we still take damage ourselves while riding the choco's. We can even get the little movement speed debuff when getting hit! No more of those days being untouchable on your trusty feathered friend.

Completely agree.. very true unfortunately. It's becoming ridiculous. Not a single FF in the past had all this stuff handed this easy. It's just wrong in every FF sense. I'm getting more pissed with every patch. The FFXIV playerbase has a reputation for wanting everything without effort. It's the reason everything is dumbed down more and more with every patch. It's no surprise that people expected this content to be handed to them too. The only way to make this playerbase happy is to give everyone maxed out characters when they start the game and to have all the best loot on tap from NPCs for 1 gil each. These kind of players are normally a minority in MMOs, but because 95% of people quit FFXIV this lot currently form the majority. Players who want challenge have gone elsewhere.
I mean look at the trend, First we have Anima where you teleport anywhere anytime, no quest needed, nothing, just hit a button *poof* your at your destination. People justified this in the past due to no other transportation methods available. These very people today are still against removing or restricting anima, because it's a mentality and an attitude of give me everything right now.
Now.. we get Chocobos, no real quest for it, to add insult to injury, by another click of a button, what do you know, out of nowhere, you're riding the damn thing! Why can't we see it come from somewhere? Did it really come down to this? players so lazy they cant be stuffed even waiting few seconds for the chocobo to come and have them ride it manually?
But..we're not done yet..
* No recast time is imposed upon the chocobo whistle.
So.. whistle anytime, anywhere pretty much, and there's your chocobo. No restriction, no penality, no recast time. Now, someone please tell me, why on earth would anyone bother running anymore? Seriously? I see absolutely no valid reason to do so. This has nullified running as a feature coz no one from this community can be bothered running and now anyone would be stupid to run given the personal chocobo.
Not to mention, rental chocobos are just as redundant as a result.. but granted, it will only serve new players to come, though again had there been some stricter requirements not just for gaining personal chocobos but using them too, rentals would have been utilized more efficiently.
And Ofcourse.. last but not least, Airships, again no quest and similarly, insta Airship travel as well, click button and there you are in your destination.
It's just becoming a trend in this game, and it sucks in all honesty. SE needs to step it up and keep this an rpg. More effort, more story, more quests.
Enough handing sh!t on a golden platter.. It's just killing any sense of fun in this damn game.
Your crazy lol. Calling a bird is killing your fun? lol.Completely agree.. very true unfortunately. It's becoming ridiculous. Not a single FF in the past had all this stuff handed this easy. It's just wrong in every FF sense. I'm getting more pissed with every patch.

man i am so glad SE does not listen to most of you.
So then ff11 spoon feed everyone? of course you can not disagree with this. because if you do it would make your arguement moot...

How is that spoon feeding? They could have put in an animation of the birdie running around the corner and then you hopping on. It wouldn't change anything for you except the amount of time you have to wait, which I have little doubt would then be followed by further bitching at the amount of time it takes to get on the thing....

Actually i quit FFXI a while back, back when it was rentals. so no comment there. But i'm commenting based on the trend i see in the progress of this game, and while i appreciate convenience, i don't appreciate spoon feeding.

What's wrong with you seeing the thing running towards you and God forbid, you have to click on a button to ride it?How is that spoon feeding?
