    well how hard should getting a chocobo be, getting a mount isnt supposed to be endgame.

    Is it also a 2-4 hour in depth quest line to get mounts in other MMO's too?

    Even if you put it this way, I think the in depth quest lines should not be for mere methods of transportation... Taking it more close to Final Fantasy in what Final Fantasy does it take two to four hours to complete the questline for chocobos once you have access to it?
