It's probably coming—considering the chocobo's described in today's news are MALE only atm. I'm sure when females are introduced they'll allow for breeding.

That is hinted at with them stating all company chocobos are male. Why bother bringing that point up explicitly if there's not going to be female chocobos and by extension breeding/raising? They already confirmed raising a while back. The system is/will be implemented in stages. I think it went like:

Personal/Rentals
Raising
Walking alongside
Outfitting
Mounted combat

You could of thought of SOMETHING creative(like every other damn game in the franchise has done) for a quest, while we rent them in the meantime

You have to graduate from recruit to full member to be able to buy the chocobo liscene. So it may be more complicated than you think.

But I agree, it shouldn't be so simple as handing over seals which will probably be readily attainable from choco escort quest.

It is sad to recognize, but most of the XI crowd confuse rewarding/hard with "time consuming for no apparent reason" (I love FFXI, but man...). A rented chocobo is not meant to be "Hard" to have access to, it is just that.. a Rental that is gone after ten minutes...

Again, the personal chocobos will require several Grand companies quest to acquire, so please look forward to that.

I think some people like to stick up for SE a little too much, even when they drop the ball.

But as I said, potentially, graduating from Recruit may be harder than people assume.
