I don't know on diadem items, but on 11/10 I noticed a huge bonus for at-level desynth. The jump from 179.68 to 180 desynth on upgraded law (180) was from 49% success to 70% success. But, I checked my desynth chance on an i180 LTW-desynthable chestpiece from the Diadem that I happened to have, and it was 75.00% at 180 dSkill. I expected 50%. The only way it would be 75.00% is if it was r180 with a 50% bonus (what I've been calling {W}=15 in my equations), or if it behaved as if it had 5 materia in it. It did have five stats on it, but I have no idea if that matters. Both makes sense to me though - aetherial items having a flat 50% boost to desynth, and aetherial items acting as if they have materia already melded into them.
