You know what? People are talking about removing the Roulette rewards for dungeons after a certain number of times that this happens, and I think that is an even better solution to the DF cooldown timer. Because someone who gets the same or similar dungeon they do not want run a half hour later may not stay in that party either. But if you remove the reason for the Roulette altogether (the bonus tomestomes and/or XP) then people will either NOT queue and waste their time and others' time, or they will queue and just do what they should have in the first place--finish the dungeon.

I also believe the penalty should be harsher if someone leaves in the first two minutes OR without clearing the first room/hall. If something comes up that quickly that is legitimate, then you probably won't be available to queue back up so soon anyhow. A high penalty will not affect you, but it WILL impact that abandons their group without trying to make it work.

    I like Pharos.

Me too! It's one of the few early lv.50 dungeons that players still have to follow the mechanics to some degree!

As for the other dungeons: They're not really speed run or "face-wall" freindly just like the Stone Vigil is, which is really healing intensive and not fun like the Darkhold is for me. And, the Aurum Vale is totally understandable and trauma inducing like 2.0's Quarn (T_T). And, seriously. Keeper of the lake isn't even that difficult and if someone doesn't know what to do: then be patient and explain it to them. It's super rude to just abandon dungeons without giving an explanation first, or going through as much as you can with them. But, totally understanable in certain cases. Like, a party of trolls!

Since when has Darkhold be avoided? Before 3.0 people used Darkhold to grind out levels. There aren't many parts of the dungeon that are as noob unfriendly as Eyes on Me.

Let me tell you kids a story from back in the day and the reason of why we abandon a dungeon when things seem not to be progressing very smoothly. As of late, it's more of silly reasons such as "An S rank has spawned at insert location."

    Blame the relics.

With limits on how much we can post, here is a picture. It's worth a thousand words.

We spent the whole dungeon like this and eventually timed out. Never finished it. This was back when AK was still new.

Its not just connection problems. Dungeons are boring and a joke because SE keeps using the same formula thinking that's all they need to do to keep people happy.

I got Aurum Vale once as a DPS, and the tank just stood at the spawn pretending to be AFK so he'd be kicked, the Dragoon volunteered to tank but it was a bit too much at the first boss so we had to kick the tank out and waited for a while before I left and requeued the same dungeon in progress on my warrior just so those guys can finish their run.

square made dungeons insanely repetitive and chore-like

but a few of them are the worst of the lot, so peeps skip them.

The lesson is not to "punish" players. You should be getting square to make these worst dungeons a better experience.

To be honest, the dungeouns themselves aren't terrible. AV is maybe one of the most annoying, but its not very bad. It gives people a sour taste, simply due to the sheer number of trash pulls, and some of the boss mechanics, which honestly, are needed to teach players for other content. Coincounter is a perfect example, hes one of the first bosses you encounter in the game without a groud reticle, displaying his range of attack for an AoE. Anybody in range of his swings will get smashed, and you have to actually look at his castbar, or look at his animations, to discern if hes going to use swipe or swing. these things are needed for newer players, and just because they wreck them, doesn't mean vets should leave the dungeoun because of this fact. We, the vets should be helping the newer players out, and helping teach these things, so that they have this knowledge later on, because it will come back, and it does, and its needed for many things. SE's job is to make content to help teach them, and they have done what they could in AV, but if people don't do the dungeoun with them, then they'll never get that experience.
