What is wrong with people on the forum..?

I will do the quests for the weapon 210 np,i don't care if it takes me more than a month,i love the game an im also helping everyone on my FC w specialist crafting(4 specialists), i never complain of anything on this game neither since 1.0 all the way to 3.15 ,great job the team has made.
-My only fear is that by the time i finish the relic we had some other access to a higher weapon then i will feel my time was bad invested.. one thing i notice is that things get discontinue really quick,i believe this is what they call vertical progression.
Besides that take it slow,you don't have to get this weapon in 3 days,take your time an enjoy the adventure, recommended to be done with friends for max enjoyment.

1) Actually if you play at 'normal' levels you should expect closer to two or more months. It depends how 'no life' you can do this. Depending on your mix you are looking at 600+ runs of alexander. If you don't get burnt out, then its totally doable. It's effectively a worse version of 'lights' given those could be done so very rapidly thanks to the reddit community, and even thinking about to the lights---I would never want to do them again.
2) That is a very good concern, but you are wrong; we dont have vertical progression. In vertical progression, you need item X to get item X+1, to get item X+2, to get item X+3. WoW does a good job of this. You need to use catch up mechanics OR dungeons to START LFR. LFR gear is required to do normal. Normal gear is required to do heroic. Heroic gear is required to do mythic. In the middle there is world bosses and other things to supplement.

FFXIV does not have this. They have 2 tiers of gear
1) Catch up tier. This can be gotten very very rapidly.
2) Current top tier. Note: 1 patch after top tier is relevant, catch up tier will be given a way to gain access to top tier.

This cycle means you really never need to do the content to get top tier, you are at most a few months behind a casual method to gain it.
Worst still, getting top tier gear means nothing--you dont use it to access any higher end content that you wont 'get for free' before there is new content. In WoW you need to do heroic raiding to get into mythic (both to learn the strategies as they grow more complex, and for the gear). In FFXIV the tiers are to 'flat' so theres nothing to do with that Savage gear you have, and by the time you can--everyone will have it.

i believe its inappropriate to personally insult people who want to offer criticisms for the game. some may be acting in an immature way, but to lump everyone with a criticism and ask "what's wrong with them" is a baseless personal attack and stoops to a level that has no place in a discussion like this or on the official forums. you don't see everyone trying to offer criticisms of the game personally insulting those who have fun with the game. keep the discussion to the criticisms and their validity or lack thereof. not about the people making them. end that cycle.

But you know what. You're totally right about the last part. This game is suitable for teenage audiences but I believe the majority of forum posters are adults just like the average gamer is. We should try and behave like it too. Focus on the point made and not the person making it.

What you just posted is working both ways in this latest of hot-topics, that is the relic. Hell, this thread is essentially calling FOR those unsatisfied, it's a massive neon sign screaming out at them saying there's something WRONG with them for goodness sake!

all i can say from my experience in game is as soon as the quest line info was released I had 5 friends immediately quit over it.
Several more in game just act morose and hang out by the guild house waiting for their sub to expire.
and this is on top of all the ones that have quit because savage keeps breaking raid groups and diadem is nothing but grinding the same thing over and over forever

I mean what can you expect?
The first step of the new relic is a carbon copy of one of the most outspokenly hated steps of the last relic
The next step is just running tons and tons of outdated content for no apparent reason at all
and then it's just grinding old content for like a month straight for the sole purpose of getting a weapon that is about equal to something you can grind out in 2 hours or less

The entire questline is just re-used concepts on old content. Nothing about it feels epic at all and the reward is just kind of meh too

It's over the top long, It's entirely made of recycled old content, and the rewards are pretty subpar

Sure the people still around are still happy, but i sure miss all the ones that quit over the lame patches

I'm really sorry to hear that. I did it without problem on my first run when I leveled up. I then queued in to it a couple times on Trial roulette and only had a wipe once in that time. It's very surprising to hear that people can be so bad at the game by level 57.

I was a bit late to the HW party because I like to take my time, and when I got to Bismarck Story Mode, all the good and decent people had finished it already. It took me several days of tries to finally clear it because everyone was sucking so badly at it.

I've been thinking about this for a while with everyone calling me a White Knight x)
I like to call them Dark Knights in my mind, just because it's more fun that way in a Final Fantasy game

Good example is when I was leveling today, I am re-leveling marauder on my new character. DF run after df run was mostly a headache, If it wasn't a claric stance sch/or ast it was dps attack whatever mob they wanted regardless if i pulled or not.

So far I have seen a lot more insults towards anyone defending SE, the relic quests or any other thing people think of as problematic, but I admit that my view might be jaded since I got name-called so much for this thread, but of course didn't keep every person in mind who resorted to name-calling the "opposing" side. I did see some insults though and thought how that is not helpful in any way either.
Personally, I don't think I ever stepped that low; I never went on to insult someone as childish, stupid, needy or any of that. What I DID call out was their behaviour. Something is wrong with people's communication if all they can do is to dramatically scream "Haaaahaaa, you're not getting any more money from me, I hate you SE!" and expect people to understand that what they are trying to communicate is "I'm really unhappy with how this relic quest works, and here is a breakdown of what I think is wrong with it". Because that's what happened on patch day when I made this thread. The discussion has since long calmed down; and I see well-voiced concerns being shared, which is totally fine. If you read my original post, you'll notice that I said I actually agree with some things. What I do not agree with is that we need 5 threads per person to scream "I HATE THIS" in, as if everyone needed their own personal little rage stage. Because that's what was happening, and it was pretty much anything but productive.

The pandemic probably caused everyone to be extra negative
