I'm actually not seeing the argument here. The 210 weapon is clearly better. It has higher hard stats (Dex and det) and an increase to a consistent stat. Whereas the Thordan weapon has lower hard stats (Dex and det) and in increase to an inconsistent stat. The correct choice is the relic considering that if you don't have another 210 weapon by now (both require raid), it will be the only one you can get.

The skill speed kills it. The Crit/Det on Heavensfire outweigh the DEX/Det/SS on the Anima weapon. The math of the stat weights make it in favor of Heavensfire.

Even if it's (in)consistent, crit still ends up being a stronger increase over skill speed because of factors such as reassemble being a guaranteed crit, and affecting all attacks inclidiong DoTs. That much skill speed only amounts to a ~.02 difference in GCD, an unnnoticable increase to DoT damage, and is otehrwise not in affect during rapid fire. The crit difference already makes up for the difference in dex/det, if not moreso.

I just don't get why people hate skill speed. I see myself doing better damage with more skill speed and keeping crit and det about the same.

I'm grinding it for the glamour. Some people don't like it, but I do. (FWIW I main MNK and my secondary is WAR, so this really is just for glamour)

Skill Speed does not affect your turret and the amount of GCD you are reducing is very minimal.

Procs on what? SS doesn't increase proc rate or anything like htat, just more weapon skills Not to mention that SS isn't in effect for the entire time compared to det or crit, because rapid fire sets your cooldown to a flat 1.5 seconds

The effect 1 point of speed has on anything is infinitesimal. You need to really pile it on to see even a fraction of a second difference so unless you have it stacked on both weapon and gear its usually fairly worthless. You had to stack it high high high on blm to see a difference and on jobs like mch its even less useful. They tried to give it more use but until they make it more effective or let it play well with job abilities its one of the most insignificant stats we could have across the board. Even on smn they tried to make it more worthwhile by effecting dots and the difference is still lackluster compared to more crit or det
