If you just did Alex runs, it amounts to twenty a day over a month (620/30). Consider you can supplement in Hunts, Beast Tribe Dailies and etc. It isn't quite so grueling. The estimate I've heard on reddit and streams is 24 days.I do doubt, except for the most dedicated ones, that you can acquire the i200 step your relic weapon within a month or two. Alone the tours into Alex will suck you dry, and we aren't even talking about the Beast Tribe Tokens, Tomes and HQ items.
That's too much, even for a Relic Quest STEP.
Those Alex runs would take about five hours per day, every day (assuming 15 minutes each, disregarding queue time). That's a lot of playtime, and that's doing NOTHING else in that five hours. Just nonstop Alex, with what is likely all or most of your free time, for a month. That seems quite grueling to me.

20 runs a day results in at least 3 hours of playtime exclusively for that, give or take an hour depending on your role within the DF queue. Per day. For at least a month. Alone for Alexander.
Even now leveling all my DoW/M/L/H classes sounds for me more motivating than getting a step of my relic done.
Yes, if you only do Alex Normal daily. You won't need nearly that many if you do hunts, dailies and etc.20 runs a day results in at least 3 hours of playtime exclusively for that, give or take an hour depending on your role within the DF queue. Per day. For at least a month. Alone for Alexander.

Which still is a major time sink if you plan to stay on being one of the first to upgrade to i200 and in general, no matter how you spin it.
And I really do not plan to do something like that over the course of the holidays to come.
That Relic is no more a alternative weapon for the non-raider community, it just holds as a token of prestige now. For glamour. Bragging rights.
I get the same iLevel in two weeks of Eso capping and additional 90 from the third one.
There is already an epic boss fighting, non grindy way to get a 210 weapon. Do that instead of relic if you don't like grinding.
Lol. I just heard about the new relic quest from a friend. Don't think I'll even continue playing till my sub runs out. Didn't yoshi-p say he wouldnt want to do the atma grind himself? You need to do it again and old dungeons? R.I.P FF14, casuals won't get this weapon till there are 8000 more stages and 3 more expansions.
for a weapon that is slightly better than a thordan one you can get in ~2 hours and may or may not be as good as the 2 other 210 weapons that already exist
and god forbid you like playing more than 1 job
Then don't do it. This is meant for people who want to grind for the next step 'relic' weapon. If that isn't you, then you can skip the grind.
