With the current system it'll take me 3 odd weeks just to get the 180 tool for ONE of my 8 crafters

That's only one way to gear up.

The other way is much more time efficient and involves gathering classes. namely MIN and BTN.

As it is currently, it is possible to have multiple main-hand crafting tools assembled in a single week.

Or the long route that takes less work. Namely what you have been doing.
