I quoted your entire post, and bolded one line for emphasis. Nice try with the "Out of context" argument. I guess if I'm a "troll" for not falling in lockstep with your whiny argument, I'll wear the label proudly.

In some cases, gear that can cost several hundred thousand gil in raw materials is selling on the market board for under 50k gil.

Crafters aren't even able afford to *make* the gear to sell, let alone 'price gouge'. I'm not a crafter but I can see how damaging that is. Some of the top crafters are just giving up placing as their fun was to craft, rather than raid or whatever. Nobody gains from a market controlled by fewer players.
Trust me, as a crafter - there's always a market to exploit where you can make absurd profits. One example is 51-60 crafter\gatherer leveling gear, which has been a solid moneymaker since 3.0 dropped and doesn't figure to drop anytime soon, and that's just some lower-tier stuff - the most intense and well-geared crafters are easily pulling in millions. One market lowers in value, another steps up to take its place. That's the way of the world in general, and of the game. There will always be something to make where demand far outstrips supply.
