Is it possible to get your base GP to 670 while wearing the i180 Red Scrip turn-in gathering gear? Or does it require for you to keep the HQ Lv60 craftable gathering gear with overmeld?
I'm planning on use toil again soon on legendary nodes once I hit 700 GP.

I had been been using Solid Reason / Ageless Words to do that (at 600 GP without using Unearth) but I can see the advantage to using Toil.I'm planning on use toil again soon on legendary nodes once I hit 700 GP.

Toil and Solid/Ageless have the same GP cost and the same effect (avoiding having to hit the node to reveal the item is essentially the same thing as buying another hit on the node) but Toil has the added bonus that there's no risk of forgetting the position and hitting the wrong spot. I used Toil all the time as part of a lower-powered version of Lilyth's rotation back when gathering endgame was redolent/antumbral for Lucis tools.

Toil (300gp) > Unearth II (300gp) > Sharp Vision (100gp) > Gather x5 (at 37% chance) > Gather x1 (last hit HQ)
Figure this gives you x5 swings at 37% HQ chance and the last swing guarenteed HQ. The only downside i can see is that the sharp vision likely won't get you to 100% (probably 91-95%).
The 100GP Sharp Vision is SVII, and add 15% for me that's 100%.What do you think about this one?

As to whether to use Unearth II (UE2, 300GP) (+30% HQ) or Bountiful Yield (BY, 200GP). UE2 will give, average, 1.5 more HQ per node-spawn. BY will give you 1 more, every time, and costs less GP -- which is important even if you have 700GP for the UE2 rotation, because it takes an extra 20 Eorzaean minutes to recover the extra 100GP for UE2. But if you have the time and the GP, UE2 is better, on average, by 0.5 HQ per node-spawn.
Different people can rationally choose either option, depending on their situation and tolerance for risk.
You forgot to add the extra +10% HQ chance of Unearth 1 (which you can use with 700 GP) in the comparison.
Either way, I'm too lazy to do the math myself, but I ve been consistently getting 3 HQs, or 4 when i get a little lucky, per node, so im pretty happy with it!
I also like to know that at least 2 items will be guaranteed HQ, even if RNG screws me over. But in pratical terms, both rotations are pretty solid. When I feel like gambling, I don't even use field mastery II and use that 100 GP somewhere else, lol.

My rotation for gathering fron the legendaries: Swing to uncover, SVII, KYII - BYII, Unearth - Leaf turn.
This gives me 5 swings at 100% and 20% to HQ with 3 items a swing and excelent chances that one swing will yeild 3 HQs.
Maximum possible GP according to Ariyala is 652 with none of the crafted i170 gear and 668 with all 170 accessories, if you're using i180 gathering gear. 700 is possible with HQ stuffed chysahl, but that's about it.
