No. No it isn't. That isn't true AT ALL. That's what I've been saying over and over. It is ABSOLUTELY relevant. Square will not make a parser. Period. They're not making one on PC. They're not making one on the consoles. Just because somebody made one on PC doesn't mean Square condones it. Because Square doesn't condone it, they're not going to create parity with the consoles. You're ignoring this very important fact and just brushing it off to fit your narrative, but you need to understand that Square will not do this.

Using your logic, somebody could create a nude character mod that Square could be 100% against, but you'd be arguing that Square should create a similar function on the consoles because PC users get to use it, even though that's a completely absurd thing to request. It's the exact same thing you're asking for.

I see you edited your post, so I'll add the following comment to mine: if you think that the implementation of something that has absolutely zero effect on how you play your job is equivalent to that of a tool like a parser, then I suggest that you read up more on what's been discussed in this thread.

Do you honestly believe that Square is going to create some kind of parser function for their game? I can't think of one MMO dev that has done that.

I will eat my words if Square actually ever does something like that, but I don't think I'll ever have to worry about that.

Also, Square has flat out said people can get banned for using the parser that does exist. The fact that they've done that shows that they don't have any interest in people using that kind of function in the game.

A parser is already in the game. The only question is whether or not SE will ever refine and release it for use outside of debug.

Square will not make a parser. Period.

It's possible. It's also possible they will make one. They've shown that they listen to player feedback, and that they are willing to change their plans and rework things based on feedback (Heck wasn't this exactly what A Realm Reborn was?).

This isn't the first 40+ page thread debating the necessity of a parser. It shows that it's clearly something people care about, whether more people have concerns over abuse or more people desire a parser is a different question. Threads like these won't be able to answer that question, and the only way one can be certain is if there was an in-game survey.

As I said, you may be right, but don't tell others to not discuss it. If you don't want to discuss it, don't post in the thread.

They are not saying that because a third party made software that Square has to do it, they are saying that because a third party made software, there is increased demand among those who cannot use it. This increased demand results in threads like these, and ultimately SE takes into account people's feedback and suggestions.

I'm not saying people can't have an opinion. I think people need to be reasonable with their opinions. Saying that Square must create parity on all systems for something they have literally no control over is a silly opinion. That's not a reasonable thing to want.

Saying that Square should have a system in place to allow ALL users of their game, regardless of platform, to utilize a parser is not a silly opinion to have. It's an opinion I agree with, as a console user myself. But I understand that people who use the PC will have access to things like unofficial mods that PS users may never have access to. And I don't think that it's on Square for making that available to PS users just because PC users can have it.

Also, reading KaitlanKela's post, that's exactly what they were saying. I don't know how you can interpret that any differently.

i actually think all 3 of us agree, and are misunderstanding each other due to the nature of speaking through an internet forum.
