I wouldn't worry too much. I've traded large sums of gil around my Free Company and Square had me change my password before logging in shortly thereafter (I assume as a built in safeguard in case your account was hacked), but a password change was the end of it. Businesses, as a general rule, want to make money and a ban effectively ends the money making, so its unlikely they will ban someone without proper cause.

Ah, If a GM wanted to talk to about that i'd be more than happy to explain my reasons, hell they can even watch and see it's legit. Most of the gil I've ammased is from dungeon crawling so it's hard earned over the years I've been playing

If they added a fixed tax at the median of current tax values, then I don't see why not. If they retain no tax value, then yeah it shouldn't be implemented.

No? becaue you haven't told us how much gil you have. how could anyone besides you know how many it would take..? It is more practical than losing almost all of your money during the move.

Just to help kill some spread of misinformation.. in order to transfer even 1 million gil, you would need 2,000 silver coins, 400 gold coins, or 100 platinum coins. As of right now, on Cactaur:

Allagan Silver Piece (sells for 500): 13 sellers, only 5 at vendor rate, 57 at 800 gil, 71 at 900, 106 at 1000, 1 at 1 million, 2 at 99,999,999
Allagan Gold Piece (sells for 2500): 1 at 4000, 10 at 5000
Allagan Platinum Piece (sells for 10000): 2 at 500k, 1 at 1 million, 2 at 4 million

Much better alternatives: look for popular crafting mats, materia, and/or shards+crystals+clusters. From my own transfer, I quickly realized it was much better to go for slightly lower value things that sell often. I still have some mats that haven't sold, and the price keeps dropping

Obviously it hasn't stopped them, but it has inconvenienced them. And if they attempt to move more than a the limit, be it multiple trades or what have you, they put a spot light on themselves and their customers. This is the point of the limit and I'm willing to suffer it if it means that.

It also "puts a spotlight" on people trading to mules, buying runs, buying houses, avoiding taxes. Meaning people who aren't doing anything against the ToS are likely to be hassled. The limit is honestly ridiculous. 10mil is much more reasonable.

And since the subject of taxes came up...

People just go to the town selling the item and you won't get charged taxes.

As for selling to avoid taxes, i'm on one of the largest servers in the game and I RARELY see people avoiding taxes on PF. Maybe 1-2 a day at most.. and with as many people as we have on Gilgamesh, that is not much.

Honestly the taxes are fine. We need more gil sinks, not less.

It is kind of irritating, that limit was frustrating when I was giving my brother gil to buy a housing plot. I was actually worried about SE investigating me or accusing me of being an RMT or something!

Iam not the OP but in the next 3 weeks, I plan to trade my wife 40mil gil. She will then in turn trade that gil to my alt character and buy an FC house.

I have no crafting or gathering profession. I earned that gil from march till now.

And this is the thing. The amount of times I heard of people legitimately trading millions of gil can be counted on my hands. On the other hand, with how often RMT make new characters for spamming there has to a substantial level of sales traffic to make getting hundreds of characters banned and lose millions of gil worthwhile.

Same situtation for me, but less than half that ammount, moving server so don;t want ot loose it, so giving it to an alt i plan on playing too.
