Then the Maoris or Samoans are sexist? Why can't they have men and women do the same dance?

    I like the female version.
The male version has it's charms but I want it soley for the female version.

If I'm going to be upset about something, I'm gonna be upset that I can't use these hairstyles on my miqo'te

Mh.... I was talking in general, since the topic of sexism was touched in this thread, as I don't think that it really has anything to do with sexism at all but, it's rather people being pissy their female characters don't get, what they think to be, a better looking version of a dance. I never really saw people throw tantrums that female and male emotes are different to begin with in most cases.

I've no issues whatsoever with everyone being able to use every emote or piece of armor & glamour gear. Btw. never listen to what Miqo'te say.... they pee with their rears turned to a wall which makes them grumpy.

To be fair I think a lot of the annoyance from the players with female characters is aggravated by the hostility a few people are showing. Every time S-E releases some new reward there are naturally some who love it while others think it's the worst thing ever, and the love/hate for the gender-split Sundrop dance would probably have been on that level if the news had broken without the mean remarks. I do sympathise with the players with male characters as we really have taken a great deal of flak, but making everyone else feel bad in the same way isn't going to solve anything at all. Not to mention that most of the people who are being picked on are actually firmly on the side of equality, so it's even crueller to make fun of them when they suffer a similar setback.

There's a disappointment factor too; I'm also guessing that with the Haka being popular with the sports crowd there are quite a few people who only know the 'masculine' version and so they hadn't realised they were going to get a variant instead of the 'real' one. That's part of why I'm so curious about it looks on less dainty female models; the Vanu females look tough even with the milder version of the dance.

Definitely a fair point to raise though, that viewing more 'feminine' variants as inferior is a problem with society in general when it's done in a blanket way. And ironically, it's a bias which works against players with male characters too since that kind of thinking is what leads to the absurd "guys can't possibly wear skirts!" whining in all of the equality threads.

Search me. I'm Latina, not Maori. In any case, why does "different" have to equate with "sexist" here? o.O
