Actually, I just thought of something.

One idea that they could work with involves taking a note out of their own book. Right now the 2.0 level 50 job quests give you the i90 AFZ gear for completion, so... What if the level 60 job quests did the same? They could issue out free versions of the most recently 'outdated' gear set. For 3.1, that would mean one full set of i170 unupgraded Doman gear plus the weapon for every fresh 60.

And then they can just update the rewards through the patches, as gear is made irrelevant by the most cutting edge content.

I believe one reason they gave you that full Af2-set is because its not easly availbel anymore (you can exchange the tokens, but you cant buy it). Giving away that ilvl180 that shortly after we farmed it feels wrong... I'm not saying "Everyone gotta work for it as hard as I did!" I'm more concerned that it will take away the feeling of making progress, gearwise. I dont know about you but I actually like switching a piece of old gear for something better... I could only imagine giving you tokens for ONE set of your choice after you finished the main quest - that way you could gear up your main but would still have to progress on your alt characters.

Also, for me gear is always an indicator for expierence... if I see someone in Fractal with full 180 I would assume they know the dungeon/endgame/their class kinda well...

The game already suffers from a severe lack of content, it's probably not the best solution to completely destroy content this early.

perhaps you misunderstood me, I'm not asking for handouts. I just feel like there should be less of a gap there, to me a logical step would have been a couple ilvl55 or ilvl160 dungeons in there or maybe even 1 of each

personally swapping out gear to me feels less like progress and more of a grind "what I just got this gear now I gotta swap out for something else to enter the next dungeon? ~grumbles~"

I think it would be difficult to justify spending the resources on new dungeons that would already be out dated for most players and would become outdated for new level 60 players in the matter of a week or two.

If gearing up now makes you feel like you're replacing gear too quickly, wouldn't your suggestion of adding more steps to the gearing ladder just make that feeling worse?

I think you misunderstand. it feels like too much effort to grind all those tomes and notes just to have to replace that gear to move on to higher content. I don't want the eso tome gear other than weapons and accessories due to limited space and the eso grind is a big load of garbage, so little tomes for the effort. I realise they need us to work with the existing content till they add more but for crying outloud the tome grind gets old fast. then there is the thing about liking the content enough to feel the grind is worth it to get that gear......:/

I should mention I'm sick a lot so it takes extra effort for me to do a lot of things a lot of the time. not that any of you care

I can understand, the vertical progression in the game sometimes goes a little too quick for my liking. It does seem like we replace gear that we slaved on too quickly sometimes, but eso gear has had much more lasting power, but you also seem frustrated with it. You don't seem to want gear too quickly, but you also don't approve of the gear that requires more time to obtain. I'm just a little confused what you want and how you think that Ilevel 155 dungeons will get it for you.

my thing is this with gear, step over gear being replaced quickly is fine if we dont have to work our butts off for it....but to me tome gear should last a lot longer than it does...
I mean come on to have to get all of the law gear and upgrade it to be able to enter ilvl 170 dungeons feels ridiculous to me, I feel like it should last a lot longer than it does. to have said gear be dungeon drops without the need to upgrade would be nice.
Also the eso gear I would be happier with if they gave us better storage for it...like letting us put the fully upgraded stuff in the armoire would be nice.
for some reason going back over my posts I feel like this one contradicts past posts...sorry about that
