    Dear SE can we have...

Dear SE can we have more gear options or more dungeons to hit the ilvl 170 mark please.
I feel there is just too big of a gap between the dungeon levels.
the research facility is ilvl 142 then we have ilvl 145 for Neverreap and The Fractal Continuum. not too bad a jump there.....then we jump all the way to lvl 170 for the 2 new dungeons

come on now why is there such a huge leap....it's very discouraging to some of us(I'm speaking of several people I have come across ingame and a couple of my friends in rl)

please note, this is a request not a demand and these are my opinions and I do not claim to speak for everyone. since this is a forum however I thought I would see if others felt like I do.
please do not respond as a naysayer and give no good reason why you feel that way.

Actually at i170 you have alexander normal aswell(which is pretty much the same as a dungeon with just a boss) so replace it with 3 new dungeons.
Tbh the 2 new dungeons are easy but probably hard with i150 gear. Part of that lvl gap is so that people get to practice their rotations when they reach lvl 60 ^^..

well the OP is talking about ways to *get to* i170, which I totally agree with.

When you first hit level 60, grinding for law until you can start affording blue gear is an absolute disaster. Could you imagine being a fresh 60 tank? You'd be... What? i140 with your level 59 weapon against a bunch of i200-210 DPS. If they do their job even remotely well, you might as well have not even shown up for work.

@OP: Much as I hate to suggest them since the system itself is fucked and needs to be re-tooled... You could always join a hunt party, I guess?

Sorry, Yoshida and team in the past have proven they only care for current players, anyone currently trying to gear up are not important and must subject themselves to grinding the easy dungeons while also hunting with the most toxic members of the community this side of the planet. :^)

Next patch should be uncapping Esos (and possibly removing Law entirely), so getting to 200 shouldn't be hard then.

Of course, that doesn't help you now. I understand your frustration.

May I ask, what about this gap in particular is discouraging to you? My sister recently (starting at 3.1, when she learned she needed to be Ilevel 179 for diadem) went from Ilevel 142 to 175. She accomplished this in a couple of weeks running roughly a dungeon a day. On paper a 25 Ilevel gap might seem daunting, but I think in practice it isn't. Patch 3.1 also provided extra law tome stones from neverreap/fractal and also added craftable Ilevel 185 gear as an option. I feel like things are paced well enough as it is, even for newer level 60 players.

Except that the required Law tomes to buy i170 gear was halved, and they previously added i180 upgrade items to Law vendors. Feels like they care a little bit to me. The i180 gear is pretty cheap also, 200k for a body on Tonberry.

Actually, I just thought of something.

One idea that they could work with involves taking a note out of their own book. Right now the 2.0 level 50 job quests give you the i90 AFZ gear for completion, so... What if the level 60 job quests did the same? They could issue out free versions of the most recently 'outdated' gear set. For 3.1, that would mean one full set of i170 unupgraded Doman gear plus the weapon for every fresh 60.

And then they can just update the rewards through the patches, as gear is made irrelevant by the most cutting edge content.

I believe one reason they gave you that full Af2-set is because its not easly availbel anymore (you can exchange the tokens, but you cant buy it). Giving away that ilvl180 that shortly after we farmed it feels wrong... I'm not saying "Everyone gotta work for it as hard as I did!" I'm more concerned that it will take away the feeling of making progress, gearwise. I dont know about you but I actually like switching a piece of old gear for something better... I could only imagine giving you tokens for ONE set of your choice after you finished the main quest - that way you could gear up your main but would still have to progress on your alt characters.

Also, for me gear is always an indicator for expierence... if I see someone in Fractal with full 180 I would assume they know the dungeon/endgame/their class kinda well...

The game already suffers from a severe lack of content, it's probably not the best solution to completely destroy content this early.
