I would like to offer my thoughts. I do love tanking, and I have found myself getting hit with more aoe damage since the change.

From a practical point of view, I also agree this was something that was in no need of fixing, and when you mess with something so fundamental to your job and skill sets, well it diminishes my playing experience. As a war, when I do huge group pulls in DF dungeons, all multiple mob aoe's blend into each other making noticeably harder to see where I need to dodge. If its noticeably a nag, then over time it will diminish my or other players' playing experience and this cannot happen.

If others love the look great, but again make a legacy option because imo, its too dim and it is not prioritized over all the other area of effects.

The largest issue I've encountered with the new change has been against the first boss of Fractal Continuum. The color of the telegraph, as well as it's transparency, make it difficult to distinguish the area of effects to move out of from the areas that are safe. The problem is further compounded given that the boss hits half of the arena with the primary attack, with opposite quarters being targeted and then switched.

I unfortunately have no run a lot of content yet as it's been a busy week, but that is a shining example of a flaw with the current telegraphs that I feel needs to be addressed. Once that issue is looked at, I'm sure the development team would be able to move forward from there with possible resolution and find similar issues.

In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

It might sounds odd but people with bad eyesight might have problem with low effect display should be an defualt option. My self haven't problem with it but iknow unfortunately some people have it.
So just been idea to have both 3.0 version and an default 2.0 version so you can self adjust it.

while I personally don't have a harder time evading things now, i see what the issue for others is. and the real question is again: why not make it customizable? can't be that hard to make an option for transparency and color

I am not color blind, but I do find the new indicators difficult to see in certain environments. One such environment being the watery areas of the Diadem, where the indicator seems to lay below the water's surface, barely visible.

An indicator that is useless sometimes is an altogether ineffective indicator. Either create an option to toggle between the new indicators and the old ones, or change back to the old indicators altogether.

I am not enjoying this change.

For the ones who don't understand why people having troble with new AoE I think that we didn't play the same contents or with the same job. ( no hate involved in this sentence xD )
A stupid example, I did The Vault both as WHM and then as WAR, as WHM I noticed the new AoE that was less invasive and I said "great they look goods" basically bacause I was FAR from the battle, but as WAR with a BLM that was bombing hard enemis I had very bad time to avoid the damned Flare AoE in the 3rd pull.

I still think that they are "prettier" then the previous but as tank I woldn't have to decide if switch graphics effects down to see them better xD
(I'm not saying that since when introduces I like to step in any AoE that popped, but I get few that I saw very lately)

While outside of any graphically intense areas, the AoE markers are fine, however once you're inside where all the flashing goes on, it is far too easy to lose sight of those markers and get hit.

I understand the need to include colourblind people and such, but light markers on light ground, or markers that are light enough to blend into any form of continued flashing effect (Holy spam for instance) are an annoyance that really need to be changed.

Turn down/off player effects other than your own. Seriously, the very first time a WHM holy-spammed in a dungeon, I went diving for that option. I was a MNK. I couldn't see jack.

I'm getting used to them now, but they are still really hard for me to see.. sometimes they look nearly invisible.. and when you have an aoe marker going off under water like on brayflox... forget about it!
