OR just disallow class changing when in party.
Nevermind. Forgot you need a party to stay in, and there are gather missions.

If you are not queueing into Diadem with a pre-made party - tough luck. If you want the group to have a common goal, make your own (full) group of 8. I do think, however, that party members should need a certain level of contribution to roll on loot from a particular mob (this would include chests from gathering in which all the loot should go to the gatherer, to be fair.)
This is what pre-made groups are for.
Get your FC, friends or people from PF together and state that you don't want anyone there whose only desire is to gather in your group. If people go against your wishes, you kick them and don't invite them along again.
Seems pretty simple.
I think SE needs to change the loot rules, let gatherers loot on gatherers stuff and DoW/DoM can only loot on their stuff, this should fix majority of the issues. But like many, I have to agree that using DF means you will get random players, who will do random stuff. By using DF you are agreeing that its oke to play with AFKers who only come to leech on the loot. It is sadly a part of the game. Its like using DF for other stuff, you might meet great players that do their part or the BLM who only spams Blizzard 1 and tells you F*ck **F, because he prefers to play the game in his own way.
SE needs to change the loot rules and add the option to kick players.
The problem with the 'gatherer's don't contribute' argument is that every group I've been in has needed a gatherer out there gathering in order to fulfill at least one of the three needed objective clears. To say that's not contributing sounds pretty shallow to me.
I can't tell you how many times I've made a party finder and put in the comments "No gathering, No ESOs from objectives, Monster farming only" and people still do it anyway. It's like, either people don't read when they join or they just truly dgaf.
The same can be said when putting "150/180 Greed 210 Need" in the message as well. People still rolling need on 150/180 despite the PF message.
Dear SE: Please remove combat from Diadem.
In DF I usually encounter (not in this order):
1.) Full party wanting to farm, usually gatherers do objectives then stop gathering. Usually people agree to only greed 210 of their class, but someone always lots anyways.
2.) 1-2 people go off to gather the rest farm chests, gatherers pass loot.
3.) 1-2 dead/afk that loot everything.
4.) DPS that always run out of space and go to a fro NPC. They always lot and never contribute.
5.) Half new people that do objectives and then the party usually falls apart as some leave after the objectives.
Pf I get:
1.) Farm party that takes 30-60 minutes to fill and then someone leaves within 30 minutes with "well I sat in the PF for the rest of my 90 minutes"
2.) PF that someone will change jobs once inside to get loot he was not intended to get (job roles were assigned in the PF and 210 was need only)
3.) Decent farm party everyone does their job and a couple people usually know each other
4.) FC has a slot to fill, various conditions listed in PF
5.) FC has slot to fill, higher IL requirement, but skilled people I recognize.
Of both of those, if PF has a newer listing with a couple slots left or a FC, I will join. Otherwise I pop into DF and take my chances. If I want to gather, I will pick easy as they tend to fall apart about halfway leaving me plenty of time to catch the fish I want. Normal mode I never intend to gather, as there is no reason to enter an area with stronger mobs to gather the exact same items. I will gather on dino island if my normal party falls apart, but that is usually only in last 10-20 minutes.
I personally believe the best option is to decrease the DPS required to see a chest drop. Having it set to all greed, while annoying, keeps people from farming it in the DF until they hit 210 and stop playing until next Alex patch. I foresee us getting some restrictions lifted once 210 is obsolete, but until then a decrease in the requirements to see loot drop could keep people from dropping out as soon as they see two people gathering.
You can't kick anyone in diadem, PFs included I think. This is what pre-made groups are for.
