In all seriousness, though, the Ascians seem to think they're correcting fate's flow and Hydaelyn's interventions are defying it, which... is also unsurprising. Just hope Alisae (if that's who that was) turns out to be OK and steps back onto the stage.
We read that scene very differently. I read it as Eldibus pointing out what is written will happen if we stick to our current course, as something that he is trying to prevent.

Too soon to say for sure, but I don't think we've ever been portrayed as being on the "screw destiny" side of the fence.

This is how I read it as well.
I also don't see Hydaelyn being the "screw destiny" type.

Edit: It's also worth noting that with the Warriors of Darkness directly killing Ravana, it basically confirmed what totally-not-Elidibus-or-Elidibus'-follower Unukalhai said back in 3.0, Ravana Ex and Bismarck Ex weren't Ascian-provoked. Or, if they were, it wasn't done under Elidibus and goes against his goals. Which also leads me to muse on how much Lahabrea was acting independently.

This isn't entirely surprising, given Elidibus likely had Lahabrea/Igeyorhm killed by giving Urianger that Auracite for going against his plans.
