This is the legit issue with Crafting atm, every patch doesn't make an effort to create a balanced list of recipes. While yes one can only so far with armor and such because leather is leather, cloth is wearver, armor is armor but that doesn't mean the other crafts should be neglected. At first glance you look at it and it's discouraging to see how small the list are for certain crafts, there is no incentive to gear up still, unless these pieces are magically decent for some reason, Carpenter especially, oh boy a bunch of furniture I can't HQ, so why does Control exist in XIV?
One wish, is I wish they would make everything have an HQ option, hell with Lords of Verminion, this is the perfect opportunity to add craft based "augments" to add perks to minions, every minion in the game could be attached to certain crafts. Let's just say like this. 145, 8 crafts, so 145/8 so each craft could have 18 recipes based on adding a perk to a minion for Lords of Verminion, to give yourself an extra edge in combat. They could make it where they need to be HQed in order to be used so now you have this competitive market of selling "minion augments" that you can use on x minion to make them better. It doesn't effect PVE and it serves to intensify the competition of PVP.
Heck honestly, same could be done with PVP have unique pieces waist and accessories, 6 pieces split between the 8 crafts and offer perks taht enhance certain abilities when used in PVP or even increase the LB break in PVP combat. I understand why SE doesn't want to give to much power to crafters in PVE but I don't see why they shoudln't offer power for PVP. PVP is compteitive and the aspect of competition is slightly squandered by not involving crafters in any way. The most crafting gets in Lords of Verminion are a few minions they can make but if you simply offered 18 new recipes that each correlated to a minion it would create more competition and encourage crafters to actually aim to HQ if HQ was needed to make them useful. It would offer a legit reason to have the best crafting gear since quite honestly judging from these notes there is still no incentive to get the best gear.
But I"ll slightly hold my breath, maybe they will make changes in 3.2 but currently what's seen is a bit discouraging. You know what even be fun, where is the FF8 abilities to "desynth" cards into something useful, why not have a set of cards tied to one crafting desynth and each craft would have useful cards to desynth if they gather it, nothing would be one and done anymore and when people get repeats they will no longer be like, "man this sucks" but rather, oh cool I can desynth into something useful maybe.
