I'd like to see them break away from the Trinity before they decide to add more jobs that do the same thing.

Yoshi already said recently that the Holy Trinity Tank/Healer/DPS is here to stay for a long long loooong time. Do not expect buffer/support classes any time soon if not ever.
generally when it was about add a class, he was always true to him word
he did say the game was lacking a scout class and was wanting to add one, and had often talked of the ninja. that was the first jobs.
he have too often talk of the dark knight and was added too, same for the machinist that was simply asked for ages...
you can try to hope, but i don't see the blue mage coming soon, mostly because it will be impossible to bring the jobs as in the solo game and people will complain even more than with summoner.
samurai was extremely asked when people did learn they had choose the dark knight, more than he was expecting. a few hint in this way, was the last new years event, the haircut of samurai we did get and the futur event that simply give us a samurai armor :x don't bring the jobs will be quite means if not cruel...
for redmage, it's as much wanted than was wanted the gunner class. and i doubt they will add a tank jobs to the game soon, mostly because they need to find a new sort of tank. Samurai = warrior in the principle then add it will as tank will be silly.
Don't know why you would want not trinity when their team is understaffed and is unable to deliver things of lesser scale such as inventory and all p2p mmos with trinity so far have not fared well at all.
If they Do add Red/blue mage how do you guys think it will be implemented both are really diverse in the way they play red mage being that jack of all trades and blue mage with learning monsters spells?
i feel red mage would be best implemented as a tank and blue mage best as a dps, now while red could be a dps and blue could be a tank i feel red mage just feels so much more like a jack of all trades if he were to go a tank (because honestly at this point the tank role just fits that well in this game).
as for blue mage i had an idea for how to make it work.
first off for its main source of dps give it blank slots which get filled when using a lancet type of skill on enemies or pets (more on the pets thing in a second) and when skills are used in combonations cause skillchains for extra damage the goal for bluemage would be managing which skills hes absorbed and dishing them out for maximum dmg.
as for the pets thing this is to solve the issue of not having enough enemy types in encounters.
You know that sounds pretty cool and like it would have a good skill cap and cool combos I like that line of thinkingi feel red mage would be best implemented as a tank and blue mage best as a dps, now while red could be a dps and blue could be a tank i feel red mage just feels so much more like a jack of all trades if he were to go a tank (because honestly at this point the tank role just fits that well in this game).

It's been said that ARR was designed with a 2/2/2/2 role requirement in mind (2 Tanks/2 DPS/2 Healers/2 Hybrid). There's more places to find information on the specific interview, but basically it was an answer in reply to why we have an 8 person setup for end-game, as opposed to maybe 10 or something more traditional. He's also said that he wanted to let people learn how to play the game for the first couple of expansions, but after those, he wanted to change up the battle system in a major way. To me this alludes to the hybrid roles, getting rid of the class/job system so we have only Jobs (you see this with the ones they just added), changing up how cross-classing works or removing it altogether, etc etc. So I wouldn't say to not expect anything anytime soon. 2.0 and 3.0 is about as long as I'd expect them to give people to learn the basics of the game before they start switching things up in a way that won't hurt the playerbase too much.
Also, the dev team is flip-flopping on a lot of ideas right now. Healers DPS 'requirements', the state of end-game and how they truly want it balanced for, Tank DPS, all kinds of stuff. They'll get it eventually, but this is the time to experiment, because you don't want them doing that once they game is hyper established.
