"Oh, but if you can use cheesy methods to get all of the cards, isn't it over too soon?" Well, even if you cheese your way around the world and gather every card, the cards can be converted into items. Transform a card into a junk item, then refine the junk item into Magic spell stock. Plenty of reason to continue playing, farming certain cards, and enjoying the mini game.

Think on this. FFVIII lacked all of the restrictions we see in FFXIV, yet for some reason it was popular enough in that incarnation to be included into a game 16 years later. Letting players choose whatever cards they want, fight NPCs at whatever Erozean time they want, and be able to alter regions rules as they want, would not make the game any less popular, because if it did, we wouldn't be talking about Triple Triad in 2015.
Wish I could spam likes on this, because YES. So much this.

I remember I was overjoyed when they finally told us that yes, TT is gonna make its way into FFXIV. I loved the f××× out of TT in FFVIII, there were times I literally didn't do anything else in there but played TT for hours - and that's without even mentioning the card transforms. I just loved it, it was that much fun (to me, anyway).

And then... here? Like I said, I don't even bother with it. Beat a few easy NPCs back then, to see what it's like, just to have them beaten... and that's it; ever since I wish I hadn't seen what it's like. That insane RNG they added to it (that they added to the whole of GS) just transformed it into a zombie-mode grindfest - when it was supposed to be fun (again, the whole of GS, and this is why I'm not excited for LoV either, because I kinda expect the same thing there too, but let me be wrong).

Considering LoV only gives 150 MGP, i'm pretty sure it's going to be dead on arrival. I'm still disappointed about TT. Only reason i'm card collecting now is because I have nothing else substantial to do until 3.1. What's so hard about removing some of the artificial difficulty, really?

Did you even read what I wrote?! Have you ever played VIII?!

It IS possible to make the AI good enough to make TT challenging no matter the cards you have! Without using underhanded methods like "random 6 out of 7 cards", "no limits", etc. Go play VIII TT and see for yourself. And that was on the PLAYSTATION! That thing is way less powerful than a low end Mobile Phone!

Triple Triad vs NPC's is a game of NPC's reading your cards and responding with a pre-designed algorithm that will favor the NPC, unless of course the NPC is specifically designed to be easy to beat, and in cases where Random is the rule, the NPC will be deliberately cherry picking your cards to unfavor the player in majority of matches.

Why is triple triad a joke? because the NPC's cheat, most players don't realize this.

...wat -_- is that for real? Where did they say that, I missed it :/ but yeah, if that's true...it is another DoA project. I'd be expecting bankruptcy on the GS by now, tbh...

And there we have another winner. No but seriously...it has been stated a few times. I think more people realise that than you'd think. ^^

The winning amount is at 03:03:30.

I'm not wasting my time with this if they're not going to make it worth playing.

Who cares about the reward if the game itself is fun? O.o

"Fun" doesn't have a universal application. You and some others may find it fun to do some things with no worthawhile reward in the end, but I and some others may not.

Basically everything one does in their free time doesn't usually have a worthwhile reward at the and. The whole concept of playing games doesn't have an actual reward at the end. But suddenly when it's a game within a game, it needs to have a reward? O... K...

The random rule is not that bad since the NPC's are stupid. Same for chaos. You'll always notice when you get screwed over, but I think most people aren't paying attention to when it screws over the Npc cuz it does happen where they are forced to play a strong card and to take yours they have to expose their weak side.

On random as long as you got 1 really good card it's not bad either. You purposely expose 2 weak sides so they take the bait then you reclaim your card with another weak card exposing 2 sides. Do this until you reclaim your cards consistently and finish them off with you big bad card. I understand sometimes you get stiffed but you usually have 1 decent card
