Void Ark to drop Esoteric parts for upgrade why?

Isn't it unfair on the players who have been wiping on A3S for the last two/three months to suddenly have their rewards devalued before they even get their first kill?.

It isn't unfair, this is how the patches have worked in the past, we've had 3 full months plus a month later with this patch, most groups have beaten A3 by this point, and the ones that can't seem to be breaking up or outright quit. i seen plenty of people in full 210 gear at this point. it is actually right on time.

The upgrade gear has never been available at the start of the patch in-between raids, it's always introduced towards the end e.g. 3.15

I'd hope it's not weekly, the game is hurt hard and right now I don't see a weekly restriction being a great idea to bring people back to the game since the idea of having a week to sit and around and stomach the same old content instead of the fresh might put more people out.

Whether it's one item a week because it's tied to a weekly quest or one item a week because it's tied to a weekly lockout is an academic distinction at best. Anyone that's expecting the content to go in with no weekly limit at all is only fooling themselves.

Are you new to this game, this pretty much been happening since coil and every time the raiders come out what?! waahhh the casuals get gear that on par with me and takes less effort.

I don't get why people are complaining about this now. Has everyone forgotten when ST gave the upgrade items for tomestone gear months after the second coil had it? And then there was the weekly CT quest to get similar items as well. Coil/Alex raids have the incentive of you get a headstart by several months and are likely doing it with people who you are friends with. The catch up version means you won't see it for months until it goes live and you'll have to deal with 23 other people that may or may not be trolling you.

People also complained about their "hard work going to waste" when relics started to be equal to raid weapons. Frankly, I think the whole entire thing sounds like "no one should ever have this unless they suffered like I have", which is also doubly funny cause original relic owners said the same thing when the steps were made easier.

Then again, we are just going to go in circles like we did in 2.0

While true, this content patch is not like all of the others. The first content patch of the expansion is coming some 5 months after it's launch. Which is beyond the typical 3 month patch cycle. It is certainly within reason that some modifications to the typical things players are used to seeing in the patches will vary slightly based on this.

I've been playing since Beta....

For starts, it's didn't happen until second coil, upgrade items weren't available in 2.0 & 2.1, secondly it never happened in the middle of a raids life span but towards the end of it.

My complaint isn't that the gear is being added either, it's that it's going to be obtained easier than it will in Savage if it is gained from a single weekly clear of the 24man raid. Left side gear should take multiple weeks much like how the Gordian Manifesto Pages from Savage work.

if your group clears AS2, 2 random glove/belt/boots and 1 illuminati gobcoat will be rolled for and everyone gets a page 2.

Gearing guide says that you don't need the pages to get the gobitems, you can roll on them directly.

So yeah, this "I had to wait 3 weeks" is only if you didn't win roll on the item itself. And you had 2 rolls a week (A1S and A2S) on top of your pages, compared to people in Void Ark only getting 1 gobitem per week.
