Anyways to respond to your earlier post Tanaka was the one who was shaping this game to be Casual only. Yoshi however is shaping the game to cater to both hardcore and casual playstyles. So it is "not a direction the game is taking now". Yoshi saved the game for anyone who was looking to play a challenging endgame. I definitely trust that he will put out more challenging content than Tanaka ever would have (in this game), and certainly better than most modern WoW clones.

Of course if you are looking for super complex fights like some later ones endgame ones in FFXI right now, that is not going to happen because we don't have near the battle complexity as XI without the job system's specialized roles and other mechanics they have planned.

Which is exactly what Matsui has said.
I agree, Tanaka started with casual players in mind. But I think Yoshi P falls short on what hardcore players expect from an MMO.

Challenge = GREAT but... it doesn't last. Once a strategy is figured out the challenge is gone, that's where the problem is. A challenge alone is not going to keep people playing. Giving us goals, long term and short term, is what keeps people paying.
