The "you" in my sentence wasn't adressing you (as in, the person Selli) in particular, but everyone in this thread who feels embarassed for letting their badmouthing other people behind their backs slip out into public.

I think... maybe when you mean something like that, you should be vague and say "people" instead of using "you". Quoting someone and saying you gives the impression you're talking directly to them (I know that's what I think, anyway).
I mean, I know I say mean things sometimes. But I thought I was behaving in this thread. :P So I was pretty confused by the remark.

English isn't my native language and I once learned that a general "you" is used when talking about an undefined person or group of people too, but it always kind of troubled me how easy it can get misunderstood u.u
