You as of this post date would be doing a bit less damage than Monks and Dragoons of the same skill level, however, once you take into account the dps increase everyone in the group sees when you use Trick Attack: (+10% Damage taken. Insanely useful in dps check mechanics, like Bismarck Ex back), Dancing Edge (+10% Slashing damage, it not only helps your own damage! Dark Knights and Paladins will adore you), TP Recovery utility with Goad, and aggro management tools with (Doppelganger, allowing your tank to go into dpsing right away if they so desire, and Smoke screen, making sure your friendly summoner doing a truck ton of dps on a huge pull doesn't pull aggro)

All in all you have yourself a really fun class that is easy to play, and has a lot of utilities that can really help a group out.

I would really recommend seeing if you can pull off Ninjutsus during 1 gcd worth of time, and if you can then definitely give this class a try, it's super fun and easy!

I stand bye my BLM as the easiest one
Linear rotation whatever level you are.

Only weakness is lack of mobility that need to be reduced by the player who know the fight and know when he should move.

Like my FC friend say : "All class are easy to play, but not easy to master"

And the dps loss if you don't refresh your stuff properlY, no matter if you let them fall of or clip them often, is substantial.

I'd also say mnk is the way to go, sonce all of mnk's timers line up naturally by just executing the rotation, with ToD being the only thing to have an eye on.

    Monk.
Set up skills to these buttons:
    Bootshine 1, True Strike 2, Demolish* 3.
    Call that the back rotation.

Dragon Kick shift 1, Twin Snake shift 2, Snap punch shift 3
And call that the flank rotation.

Alternate between those 2 rotations (☆no need to think 'bout if you clip demolish or not if you're not going for the absolute best dps you can get out of monk)

And then add off GCD skills anywhere easy to press and spam them away.

Every now and then use ToD (personally set as E) (Or don't use it see ☆point above)

(*is that the real name of the skill even. 2.2-> 3.0 monk and can't remember lmao)

People need to remember that a healer's job isn't to heal HP
but rather to prevent HP from reaching 0

WOW! My post got a lot of responses.

Thank you all for the information!

    -> Repeat

    Monk rotation in a nutshell:
Dragon Kick -> Twin Snakes -> Snap Punch/Demolish
    Bootshine -> True strike -> Snap Punch/demolish
insert Touch of Death anywhere if it's about to fall off
Use snap punch over Demolish if there's still time left on Demolish
    Insert oGCDs anywhere
When I first read the Lancer's rotation I was like "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" *faint* It looked waaaay too complicated but then this was posted....

    Dragoon is simple as hell.
And a light bulb went off!

The rotation of a Monk and a Lancer are similar in structure. So, me playing my monk is actually a good choice, given my limitations.

I have to agree. But I will say Ninjas look like fun! In addition, Zyst's enthusiasm is infectious. It's great to encounter someone who loves their chosen class so much!

Overall, it's looking like I should stay with Monk and try Dragoon at some point. I also read a bit about Black Mages and they seem kind of intimidating to play well. I'd like to hear from more players regarding them.

If your primary symptoms are muscle fatigue in the hands and wrists then maybe something a little more deliberate in rotation would be better.

From what I've heard from my mage buddies ( i'm not really a ranged DPS style player ) they are a little bit more deliberate in their rotations. Involve a little less twitch reactions and more thinking ahead and knowing a fight. This might feel a bit more comfortable for you once you have a good grasp on a fight or instance as you wont have to keep circling a mob to hit positionals like on a melee DPS. If outputting maximum amount of DPS and keeping up positionals is important, then your gonna be moving both hands quite a bit to keep up with the melee DPS style gameplay in this game. Even if the rotations are a bit simpler.

Just some thoughts for you to consider.

Yes you are right less skill than another but you forgat position during fight ( flank and rear combo ) and that is most important for monk. When you use this skills you must stay true position or dps GG . When play monk, must change position avarage every 5 sec.

If you use any kind of gaming software to assist... Bard works pretty well with the logitech gaming software and I assume razer & corsair have equivalents. Heavensward does muck it up a bit but it's still pretty manageable with LGS or whatever assisting.

Black Mage. The hardest part is learning to move according to the duty, but otherwise it's super easy. No keeping up a million DoTs, just a set rotation all the time.
