Square isn't 'dumping it all' into XIV. Square actually has several game presently in development or nearing release. Dragon Quest Heroes is coming out soon, that was in development while XIV AND XI is operating. There's XV coming soon(TM), people have said it's looking very promising. They are also developing XI's mobile spin-off in anticipation with XI's eventual shutdown. And then there's Tomb Raider coming soon(TM). Square never really just does one thing, I can't think of any companies that do.
