Thankfully I enjoy a nice, long grind! But I'd prefer it be levels that we are grinding for the long haul, so people would slow down and enjoy the game all the way through.I login for 10 minutes on Saturday mornings to buy a Jumbo cactpot ticket and 3 mini-cactpot tickets.
I'll probably play for a few hours to do the halloween event if my subscription doesn't run out before then.
I'm just waiting for 3.1, and hoping beyond hope, that SE will drastically reduce the grind that the game has become and let people actually enjoy all the content the game has to offer.
Honestly I don't know why I do, seems like everything is the same thing since the launch and nothing changed.
Dungeons
Fates
Quests
Job quest
Coil switched to alexander
Hunts even in expansion but different points
1 gear set obsoletes as soon as another gear comes which makes getting that set pretty much worthless and you wasted most of your time either getting half of the 1st set and not finishing it.
flagging up is becoming more like FFXI in 2006 the 30 minutes to 2 hour wait and flag down and log out.
what keeps me here is nosalgia I guess, some of the fights like ultros and gilgamesh and old music I just want to see something new added to get gear or something fun to pass up the time like NM's or games added to golden saucer.
other than that I feel like I stand here after im done doing dailys with nothing to do but twiddle my thumbs and waiting for 3.1

I'm getting married so that's 1 reason why I keep playing, 2 would be EX roulette even though i'm not happy doing it every single day, but I want to be able to get another full ilvl 200 set for my DRK I already got full ilvl 200 gear for my DRG.

I stopped playing 2 weeks ago due to acute AS3 syndrome (i.e. extreme burn out due to raiding). I just came back yesterday to say hello to the friends who are still in the game and do some unsynch'ed content with them.
I haven't capped eso in a while (In fact, I've capped only 2 weeks since eso came, and I've spent nearly a month at 0 tomes per week now).
I guess what's keeping me in game is just the fun of doing old content in a improbable set up. now I want to level up my WHM and try to solo T5 as I've seen you can do it. Then I'll try to solo more of these old things as either WHM, SCH or WAR.

Trying to stay on top of the economic totem pole I guess. I've always kept myself in a position where I can fully take advantage of every new system they add to the game. Mainly housing, gardening, crafting, and gathering. I was the first on Excalibur to mass-market Hive and Expanse Bardings, Thavnarian Glamour, and Purified Coke. I built an outrageously large customer base through trustworthy transactions where I'll synth anything for 90k + materials. Word of mouth also has had quite the steamroll effect.
However, all of this requires me to log in every single day to maintain the customer base, adjust the market, and put foresight and unpopular systems to good use. And so I keep logging in (^_^ ;; )
My SO - the cool folks in my FC and raid group - and the hope that they will improve the game.

I'm just unable to log on since at least a month if not more. I really want too though. But at the moment, the game is feeling like a chore to me.
- Get home from work
- Do roulettes. Which takes more than +1 hour. +1 hour I always feel I could have spend doing something better.
- Log off or spam more dungeons to try to cap tomes earlier.
I still have jobs to level to 60 though. But again, doing that is more of the same thing. Either grind FATEs like a mindless zombies or repeat dungeons until I fall asleep mid dungeons due to boredom (which sometimes actually happens).
I really love the game though. But I'm not blind enough to not notice, that I'm basically repeating the entire 2.x tome, gear, leveling grind all over again. But this time, I don't feel compelled to get the best gear. Because I know that a few patches down the line, it will become easier or worthless to get them(besides for glamour).

And that's the sole reason I am doing my expert roulettes in the first place. Three ESO chestpieces, two gloves, one head and not a single useful item like the weapon or ring.
Gotta do more of the old content as well. High allagan accessories look really neat and some of the dreadwyrm stuff too. On that note: There doesn't seem to be a single T-shirt like item in the game. Boo! I just got the ramie trousers because they looked roughly like jeans and now I can't get a good top piece to go with them :/
Uh...yeah, you can probably guess at least one of the reasons I play. But then again, I'm not that vet yet anyway.
The problem isn't that the game has grinding, the problem is that every single thing is a grind forcing people to either focus on a single piece of content or never achieve anything of note.

Me and a few friends are taking a break until 3.1 comes out, I used to log in to do my daily roulettes and cactpot, but I haven't even had the motivation to do even that.
No biggie, when 3.1 comes along, will gear up either Tank or Caster with Void Ark and use my Eso for Machinist, I might focus on a relic or 2 depending on how they progress.
