What about this game keeps you logging in even if you're not totally happy with it?

Its refreshing to see a handful of replies from people who are happy with the game for what it is. It's also refreshing to hear about people enjoying lots of the little things you can do in the game that many people seem to not care about. The more I play the more I enjoy it for what it is rather than wanting it to be something else.

I love the beauty of the environment. While I would love more expansion and places to travel I am content with what we have. I love the textures and the color, the character's animations and the way the classes feel like older games. Their animations remind of the the early FF games. Attack, animation and back to zero.

Nostalgia, the ongoing story, and the urge to level everything mostly. I'm more from the hardcore punishing camp (old L2 before the FTP, Ultima online, etc.) however I do love how front and center the story is here. Also, most of my friends jumped in here though and without a play group I find sticking to games hard. The nostalgia from other FF titles is definatly probably my biggest draw though.

FFXIV has tremendous world building. Everything in the game, from characters to geological features, from quests to items, is a story. The places feel real, the politics are engrossing, and the fantasy seems like a reality. I've played MMOs that I would say were better games than FFXIV, but I've never played one with a better world.

I can't find any MMO that have glamour system, so I still stick with this game. Also crafting and gathering, and one character many jobs, and decorate FC house, and nice community. (Although I feel bored because no event until now)

Well I'm still working the full 60 cap grind, a few more battle classes and crafters to go, plus i still have Eso pieces to get for my main and the Law pieces for my other classes. Have full blue gatherer scrip gear, haven't even touched red scripts yet... So still lots to do, it's all about where you put your priority and what you actually want to accomplish.
