In his defense, the game might feel like that when one doesn't mind getting carried. ^.^
You two have clearly never played any MMO pre-2007. You're telling me you've never played Diablo? Never even tried Ultima? And then there's this. I can log in, spam a rotation of a few buttons, get out of CLEARLY choreographed and set moves with no problems and genuinely wonder what has happened to the MMO series. It's a fact.
But casual is where the money is so why not fleece the fanbase? Hell, no wonder Destiny's selling emotes now.
Don't know why I typed anything. Found this gem as my proof.

Proof of what exactly? I admit I haven't played Diablo. I played Diablo II tho. Can't be that different I assume?
The first MMO that I played was MU Online, then Guild Wars, WoW, Warhammer Online and many others afterwards.
What's so bad about not caring about min/maxing? I would take skill over stats any day. Actually the whole overgearing business in this game makes me kinda sad.
Honestly if my job is to do 1000 dps, I don't care much if I do 1100 or 1200. As long as I do my part and my team does their part, there is no need to min/max.

Woah woah woah, sure you aren't confusing casual players with terrible players? You two have clearly never played any MMO pre-2007. You're telling me you've never played Diablo? One can play 4 hours a week and be casual yet still understand their job well enough to perform well. Time spent in this game really doesn't equate to much. This is clearly apparent when static raid groups who spend much less time are clearing endgame raids much sooner than those who spend the entire week bashing their heads and eventually disbanding.
