Why does this game punish you for wanting to help people?

This is one of the only MMOs where I have always felt like there is a giant chain around my neck. Since you are locked out of low level skills, you are basicly made weaker every time you go back and do content.

There is almost no variety or progression in the game. I have my ESO gear, but I feel no different from when I didn't have it. I don't feel any stronger and my character feels like nothings changed.

I suggest adding a mode where you can do dungeons without locking out your skills, but you get no experience for it. However, everyone else in your party is rewarded with experience. You still get level locked but you get access to all your skills and equipment.

I mean, your level/equipment is still scaled back. However not as by much. You feel more powerful but your not just one shotting everything.

This is basically what the Unsynced queue option is for.

You can't have low-level and unsynced people together in instance matching because it absolutely destroys the rotations and party structure you're supposed to be learning about at low levels. No synced tank, no matter how well geared, has a snowball's chance of dealing with an unsynced character's aggro. An unsynced healer won't be remotely as effective trying to heal someone with easily three to five times their own health. Any DPS coming from unsynced melee or magic roles is going to pale in comparison to the inevitable Holy/Gravity spam that would happen with unsynced healers, and DRKs and WARs are going to annihilate mobs before DPS classes can get off a single proper rotation.

Except Unsynced is your pretty much level 60 in a low level dungeon. You also get no experience for it.

Also, the other problem I see is I want to help people but I also don't want to. Why? Its boring, I have to go back and i'm "scaled" back in power. I want to go in and impress them with how strong I am..

Sounds like you actually just have a big ego and want to be worshipped imo.

Had a healer flash a coil drop as soon as he got into a dungeon run once. He played like crap. Such a sad person..

Want to impress people? Be good at your job and help the run go smoothly. Besides, you can still power people through dungeons to at least clear quests (which I doubt most people would want given the exp loss). Being power leveled through a dungeon sounds boring anyway - I want to feel like I'm useful at any level.

Actually, lemme rephrase that:

That IS Unsynced queueing. No xp, no easily farmed gil, no speed gathering from dungeon mobs, no powerleveling low-level characters by sending in the WHM and BLM to nuke things.

If you really want to show off that badly, put together a full party and queue for whatever dungeon you have a grudge against. That is, in fact, a thing you can do. Like, right now.
