eso weapons vs relic weapons

So you saing that for poeple who has already an esoteric weapon ilvl210 is already too late because they would need a ilvl200 to upgrade it to the current relic ilvl210? They would require to buy another one. It cannot be, no way it would be made is such a way.

That's a fair point I hadn't really considered, though I don't see why they couldn't make both the i200 and i210 versions of the weapons work for the quest. Either way I do think that's a legitimate point.

On my personal theory I would said that the relic will be ilvl 215

The Relic almost certainly won't be i215, unless they also increase the level of Gordian weapons to i215 as well. They're currently i210. The extra five item levels was really just a holdover from 2.0, when the i90 Relic was much easier to acquire than Allagan weapons (which were originally i90). They were bumped to i95 to make them more attractive.

Relics have never had anything to do with capped tomes or weekly lockouts, and esoterics will almost certainly be capped until 3.2.

That's not true. After you achieved the base i80 relic, you could exchange 900 Mythology Tomestones for three Thavnarian Mists and upgrade the item to i90--it was originally just the "+1" version of the item, but they later changed the name to Zenith. At that point in time, Mythology Tomestones were capped, just like Esoterics are capped now.

But that was back on 2.0. The game was "fresh new" and there were a lot of mistakes to be fixed. Now the game has improved much more. This new relic quest will be totally different from the old one.

You have to consider that relic at the end of every catch up patch was always the best in slot, 3.1 is a catch up patch. The only way this could be possible, adding that it will be an upgrade from the ilvl210 esoteric weapon, would be an increase of the ilvl + 5 or customize stats or both. Just giving us another another ilvl200 weapon it not going to be worthly for people to put effort on getting the relic( exept for glamour ), not until 3.2 when we will have another upgradable quest.

My assumption is that we'll customize the stats in this very first stage, to be honest, but I also expect it to be time-gated to a certain degree (a bit like Alexandrite had a "soft" gate with the Daily Expert Roulette, though you could farm more maps to a minor degree).

Actually, we know full well what the advantage was. You could practically ignore weapons till level 56-57 if you had a Zeta.

It's hard to say if the estorics weapon is a good investment as this stage with 3.1 getting closer and us still having no details on the requirements for the new relic line. If it's a series of challenging fights like the original relic was, you can bet you'll want the best weapon available. If it's some mindless grind, you can probably get by with just an upgraded law or RavEx weapon.

I have serious doubts that the relic starter will have anything even close to so difficult that what weapon you're using matters. :P

The relic is not going to require anything harder than an EX primal, and even that's a far fetch since Yoshi really wants it to be a weapon that anyone can achieve with enough time.
