We could always do what WoW did in Warlords of Draenor and have the raid for those Filth Casuals drop ugly undesirable gear.
That will surely increase interest on hard modes! I've heard Warlord of Draenor is the best expansion yet!

Don't know about this, but in coil the first one was pretty damn easy. It's probably the same with Alex. The first few turns being easy, and once the second part unlocks it gets to a part where a lot of people can't beat it without having a useless static.
Salty Raiders: The Thread.
The problem is that having normal as part of the gear progression cycle causes players to be burnt out on the savage versions of the fights before they even zone in on them. I think the most important aspect of this is that the novelty of the fights is gone because by the time you start doing savage you have already cleared normal quite a few times getting ready for savage. The novelty the fight helps make it interesting as you are going through the initial learning phases where you are wiping a lot trying to figure out how to deal with the mechanics. Even though the fight has stricter mechanics, it largely feels the same. I groaned the first time I zoned into A2S because I knew almost exactly what type of fight it was and was bored of it already where as every single coil turn was exciting to start learning.
If you were around for 2.0, would you have been happy if instead of Syrcus Tower, you got Labyrinth of the Ancients 2.0 - Same zone, Same trash, Same bosses, 1 changed mechanic per boss, and the same loot but dye-able? I don't know anyone that would have enjoyed that, but that is essentially the relationship between normal and savage right now.
Players have been burning out incredibly quickly, and every static I know of has been having trouble keeping members. Many statics have become revolving doors of replacements or no-shows, which then takes and even greater toll on the ones who have been sticking around.
I take it you didn't do Second Coil of Bahamut (Savage) because it didn't have gear?
Easy solution: smack Mr. Happy and his ilk with DMCA takedown notices and end the "watch someone else play it before you're allowed to" trend.
Hardly a fair comparison given that ST was added 6 month after Labyrinth of the Ancients. If you were around for 2.0, would you have been happy if instead of Syrcus Tower, you got Labyrinth of the Ancients 2.0 - Same zone, Same trash, Same bosses, 1 changed mechanic per boss, and the same loot but dye-able? Is some similar "we can't see that SCoB anymore", like we have with Alex now.
But some weeks ago, we started for the fun in SCoB Savage. Enough time had passed to get the hate out of their heads.

I'll go even further. I don't bother with it, one, being that I have to complete a fight "Ultimate Balad" which at this point in the game is absolutely irrelevant. I'm was just dumbfounded why Yoshi and his crew would gate Alexander Savage behind that. Two, there is absolutely no use for that Alexander Savage gear. This bickering will never end SE just remove Alexander so ppl can shut up and go back to coil and stay there lol joking
I consider myself semi-hardcore and I stay away from savage not cause it's the same bosses but mainly cause it's just to hard for no reason...I understand it should be hard but geez all classes besides dps get a whole new main role DEEPS cause of savage...I feel like this raid is poisonous causing arguments, horrible unfriendly statics, and a lot of tears lol.
Granted it does bring back memories of old FF games where the boss did like 9999 dmg and you only had like 8k health haha XD..
Is it reset Tuesday yet.
I question whether I'm playing a PvE game with PvP mixed in, or I am I playing a PfG.
