Hate to tell you this but the developers already have, look in the duty finder. Since it is their game they do get to define whatever they want about it.lol what almost everyone in CT just spams 1-2-3 or brd and mch who will just spam 1-1-1 and never get found out, now try to do that in coil or AS and you will never get anywhere CT is not a raid it just a boss rush for gear. and developers as you qoute dont define it ether its the player base who made up a majoirty of name in the game. when void ark comes out it will be a week of wipeing to get things down then after that its "rush the boss, and get out as quick as you can" if the loot you want doesnt drop make someone leave or just outright leave after said boss and then re enter
with how nasty some people get on these forums I often wonder why I bother at all.

OP wants to feel special for dedicating himself to less than 5% of available content.
Not even with a heads up people can understand the threat yet... seriously I'm getting disappointed with the IQ of this community, why is it so hard to understand that this threat isn't anything about e-peen, casuals, locking story, or WHATEVER THE F@#$ Hell you all are winning about, The threat is about the incentives or any motivation to do this shit, with PATCH 3.1 on the corner ALEX SV will not longer give the best loot, We will be able to get upgrades from 24-man raid and ISLAND that will be 210, and glamour wise can easily be obtainable from NM, without any lore, bosses, mechanics, or anything else besides just a flying mount, was the point on aging myself with this content?
why such a simple shit like this is so hard to understand? IDK why 90% of this threat has their sensitive arses so burned but more than one of you need some snickers.
all I'm asking is for the next tier of raids, solutions to make the next raid something desirable to do, I'm not a hardcore player, I have work, studies, family and a life outside of this game to go full on dedication for something worthless as it's ALEX SV right now.
How much can I stretch this to you all to understand my point ?
bottom line: IN MY SOLEM OPINION ALEXANDER SAVAGE IS CURRENTLY WORTHLESS TO DO.

It's funny you should say this. I just had a Fractal run 2 nights ago and the first thing I said was "How is everyone's evening going?" This was followed by complete silence, not even a "Hi." Nothing was said until the 2nd when the MCH said "Brb, bathroom." I made a little comment like "Ah so people can talk here :P" (as jokingly as possible) and I all I got in response was "your annoying" (yes it was mispelled).
People are so antisocial anymore xD
Why are people assuming the Airship Exploration will just hand out 210 gear like candy? We literally know nothing about the content, stop making assumptions based off of its highest possible ilvl. That's not to mention that the stats on it are random, let's say a 210 piece has a drop rate of 1%, but to get stats better than Savage would require extraordinary luck, meaning it could take potentially hundreds of hours for a single piece given SE's track record with relic weapons. Why do people who do this form of content for so much hours not deserve gear on par with Savage? Why don't people who spend hundreds of hours on the Relic deserve to have a 210 weapon on par with Savage, 4 months after Savage is released?
Should they give more reason to do Savage after the odd number patches are released? Yep, as to how they can do that, well I don't really know. Dyeable gear clearly isn't enough, a cool mount isn't enough, a unique weapon isn't enough, a unique set of gear perhaps? A 5th boss similar to WoW's extra bosses on the higher difficulties not tied into the story? That would probably help. But again, unless it dropped the best gear for the next 7+ months people will still complain I'd bet. As for the person who replied to me earlier, this is a serious question, why not play WoW? It's clearly a game that appeals to your play style more than FFXIV ever will, and you can even pay for your WoW subscription with gold, so if you're like me and want to play two MMOs at the same time but not be willing to pay $15 to log on every so often, well there you go.
WoW's raid gear is the best because it's literally the only way of gearing up that isn't a catch up mechanic for returning players/alts, the game focuses on raiding and nothing else, FFXIV on the other hand is completely different in that they release a lot of content (sometimes not to its benefits, some content should be put on hold if there's not enough actual endgame).

Being honest, I do think that normal mode has taken away from savage mode. And I actually would prefer normal alexander to go away entirely (having already had a taste of that reality with the previous raid tiers). On a personal level, it's really taken away from the freshness of the fights and the story did hold a little more... weight(?) when we had to struggle for weeks/months just to see it. Call me a selfish, casual hater or whatever, but I honestly liked the old setup better. Oh and I say all this while being stuck on a2s for a pretty long time now.
If they absolutely had to include NM for making the story as accessible as possible, I would have preferred them being more similar to the hm primals in execution: really easy one time things with no gear or anything of the sort. At least this way the savage mode fights will still feel relatively "new" like the ex primals usually do.
I'd say what really defines "raiding" is what the MMORPG genre has done with the term, not a single developer. That's how genre and definitions work. It's a communally understood term that conveys meaning.
I know in my circles, when you say MMORPG "raiding" you'd invoke ideas of a small group of dedicated players who stick to a schedule and tackle coordinated challenges. The absurdly easy CT and LFR content barely fits the bill here.
Overall, it's splitting hairs between semantics and "No True Scotsman". However, when someone describes themselves as an auto-mechanic, I initially imagine them as being proficient with handling automobile machinery. When someone says they are a raider, I imagine them having attempted at least somewhat difficult content and tried sticking to a schedule.
By definition, someone who can barely handle a car mechanically IS an auto-mechanic. Someone who can barely handle CT IS a raider, but at the same time the word loses quite a bit of its developed meaning when you apply it loosely.
You get the following:[B]
suggestion: I just tough about what can be done to improve this, maybe.... MAKE ALTERNATIVE or EXTENDED CS that reveals just a little more information of what's coming next, kinda like every game HARD mode that unlocks secret ending that will be a + for me. and maybe not dropping NM gear just leave the gear for (SV)
A mount
Gear you can dye
materials to upgrade AF2 to dye
Unique weapon only gained through Savage.
What more perks do you want? To add slightly more story to savage mode would defeat the purpose of why they were split into two concepts in the first place.
even if!
it gets random stats you can trade it in and get points that you will be able to modify on your next drop and it surely will be hard to get 210 but it's still content that I'm willingly mre than happy to spend time in instead of the already boring pointless raid we currently have.
and even IF!
you can still get upgradable items from 24-man raid that I'm also more than happy to spend more time in than the raid, aside from the ilvl200 gear for my alts, that even if it takes a little more time still will be more relaxed and less time consuming to upgrade and just be at the same lvl by the time next tier comes....
The mount is a nice reward but not nearly enough to bust my ass for a small chance to get itYou get the following:
A mount
Gear you can dye
materials to upgrade AF2 to dye
Unique weapon only gained through Savage.
What more perks do you want? To add slightly more story to savage mode would defeat the purpose of why they were split into two concepts in the first place.
the gear that can be dye that looks exactly the same as the NM? seriously? no, that's just not enough for spending month and money, gear looks better on it's original color anyways.
materials will be given in the 24-man dungeon in 3.1 so.....
the weapons are cool stuff but at 3.1 we are getting relics that let's be honest everyone will jump on it and make themselves one.
what perks do I have left?
