I think I understand your reasoning, and it's pretty much the same as mine... you just can't stand that people sit there and say, 'Play the game the way I want you to or GTFO.'You and me both...
This is exactly why I avoid any discussions about endgame raiding as much as possible. Granted, I find myself posting in these discussions anyway though. Despite that, something bothers me about endgame raiding discussions... and I can't quite put my finger on it... Perhaps I should just go back to never posting in endgame raiding discussions.

We are going to need a full ilv 200 to clear ark and 210 to make it easierNormal mode would have less of a negative effect if it was released maybe a month AFTER savage and savage tuned around i180+ gear instead of i190+, then people progressing on savage wouldn't have such a big burn out of doing the same raid multiple times like that problem WoW faces with normal/heroic/mythic.
There is no problem with Alex NM and Alex Savage. NM doesn't need to be removed. Savage does not need to be the only way to raid... this is the core of the original discussion, 'Stop making Alex NM' and that is what I disagree with.

Regarding the story part of your post... right? People claim that normal ruined the story, but in reality it was so bland, uninspired, filled with cliches and had comic relief characters as the main "villains" of the story. It was bad, not because of normal, but because it was just god-awful. And please, don't use that "Oh, it's only the 1st part, the 2nd and 3rd will be better" excuse I keep hearing, when we're waiting 7-8+ months for the next part that just doesn't fly with me. They completely butchered Alexander's potential of being a godlike being to a giant robot that will consume all the aether, but the areas around him are still lush with green and healthy grass for some reason. At the end of Turn 5 we were treated to a view of Bahamut's head, Floor 4? A battery core or whatever.
And another note for those suggesting the removal of Normal Alexander, do you honestly believe people are going to be happy with 2 dungeons because you want to keep a huge amount of content to yourself for seemingly no reason (this isn't targeted to those who want a larger difference in mechanics or normal being delayed, but outright removed)? No, and you aren't going to unsubscribe if they get that content, but surprise, they will be with running 2 dungeons for 4-5 months every patch cycle. If it wasn't for Alexander Normal I wouldn't even be subscribed right now and would have definitely regretted my purchase of Heavensward, Alexander is literally the only endgame we dirty casuals have besides Bismarck and Ravana.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...You legitimately made me laugh.
It will probably require i180 to queue for, but probably require at least i160 to win.
Honestly what I think SE should've done is made the upcoming island exploration some kind of midteir open area raid and take out AlexNM or make it so AlexNM doesn't drop gear or Savage gear is i215
Put in a very good story, maybe about an ancient beastmen tribe or a lost tribe of the Vanu Vanu. Maybe about them summoning an Elder Primal, maybe Quetzalcoatl to match the Vanu Vanu theme.
Put in parts where you have to a have an Alliance. For example against high level bosses or against a battalion of enemies.
Make mobs about the level of CT saga. Make mini bosses about the difficulty of BCoB difficulty or a little less. Make bosses a little harder than BCoB.

yeah, the tiers are different. You even admit to it a bit yourself. The mechanics are much more difficult. Just count the mechanics in a3s, count the phases, and compare them to the third boss of each raid tier.Just proves my point its dps checks. More or less the mechanics aren't any harder then final coil mechanics its needing more gear and the most optimal set up you can have to clear the content faster. Why did all thoes 1% use the same cookie cutter set up which is, war drk, drg nin blm brd whm sch ? That set up gave the most dps. People actually switched their jobs when they found out this set will give max dps and has the best synergy.
They had to wait so long to get enough gear to overcome the harsh dps checks that didn't exist in the previous tier. But overall the mechanics aren't really any harder then final coil in my opinion is you just have to wait longer to gear up especially if you have a non optimal set up such as having plds, or no drk, or no drg. and a lot of people don't see to get that and just give up and say they don't want to do it.
There are more mechanics and more is required of people while those mechanics are going off. In coils, you could have a few weak links that your team could compensate for. With alex savage, you cannot have a single weak link in your chain to get an as4 clear.
That's a bit of a chicken and egg problem. There is no reason to put work towards Savage because people don't do it because there is no reason to do Savage (cause no work was put into it).
A small percentage of people actually care about Triple Triad and Chocobo Racing, better scrap those too.
I'm just going to add this to my list of rebuttles to "We want a challenge" because personal satisfaction doesn't matter at all.
Questing is like participating in an Old Spice Commercial - Talk to me, talk to him, talk to me, talk to him, Now Talk To Me...Sadly, you are not done, back to him, look there, its that mob I never liked, back to me, back to him...I'm in the Waking Sands.
