This is the real premise, the "there's nothing to do, there is a lack of variety" is the false premise. One is the player's on choice, the other blames the dev for not creating content, but there is obviously content as you are acknowledging the existence of content, all the while you are making the choice to not do it.

None because it is plain boring and not entertaining. I'm currently waiting on 3.1 but if I don't see any improvement I won't renew my subscription.

No please. I m 28 years old and I play video games since I'm 4. I know how to make the distinction between sloppy game design (current FFXIV) and good game design (a whole lots of video games, and even in recent ones). Also the only HW content I have yet to complete (outside scripts and PVP, seriously, who even takes seriously FFXIV's pvp ?) is alexander savage (because I'm a veteran raider from FFXI, wow and FFXIV V 2.X and I don't find the encounters to be interesting and worth the time investment).

I'm far from being alone in critics I have to formulate towards FFXIV. As an example, an encounter where you have to cheese a mechanic to get trough it (A4S) is not a well designed encounter.

I don't even farm tomes/scripts. The only reason I'm still subbing is because I support FFXIV since V1.0 because I see the potential in what SE can make (but doesn't currently) with FFXIV.

Once again, that's debatable.

Let's pick up a normal RPG for instance: you play because you want to reach the end of the story, and so you play those 50+ hours just to see the end: what happens is you decided to play the game for its story without focusing on the rest of the content it had, however the story alone WAS ENOUGH to satisfy me: I didn't have to squeeze 30 hours of gameplay to make it substantial. If the game starts to ask me for doing extra just so that the game doesn't end too soon, that's where the game becomes boring and sadly a lot of RPGs nowadays have this tendency of being quest hubs.

However this translates different on a MMORPG: you want people to be satisfied with the kind of content they want, whether pvp or pve or crafting/gathering wise, but as of now they're so little and so limited by caps and stuff that you can finish them in only a matter of hours, while it should last for days, MONTHS!

My point is that, if you're satisfied by doing all these bits and pieces of content, it's more power to you but don't just start saying that they should do content that they don't like "because it's your choice not to do this".

Exactly! and that is what an EXPANSION is supposed to do...expand upon the game and add new things! Not the same thing with different skin. I SERIOUSLY am tired of seeing people (not you) saying how adding new content is not a need, and what we have is fine. What in the heck is wrong and bad about adding new variety content? Really mind boggling lol.

The biggest problem is they REPLACED old content. Sure, they expanded the world and lore of the game, but in terms of payable content, all the old stuff has no relevance.

YESSS..exactly, thus making it like having no content. Also strange..why they work so hard and invest so much time in making content to make it totally irrelevant and now with 3.05 they did that even FASTER then normal...
