People would start to put their solo numbers on reddit, and then the comparisons would begin. You know the rest. A self-parser is the same: a parser.

Yes but how would this impact a party? It isn't like they are going to say "Post screen shots of your in game parser now or we'll kick!" I mean come on...
Also if people did post on reddit wouldn't it be a good thing? Wouldn't you want to know if you weren't playing optimally?
What I will say is this: There will be players who vote kick and trash talk with or without parser. All it would do is give them confirmation and proof. I would still like a self parser to see if my DPS is up to the standards. Also why couldn't there be an ingame party one funcional only in a premade? I don't know how that suff works tbh. Also....
you would be surprised the length toxic player would go in this gameYes but how would this impact a party? It isn't like they are going to say "Post screen shots of your in game parser now or we'll kick!" I mean come on...

Oh no my cheese!
How can you know you are underperforming, if you have nobody to compare yourself to?What I will say is this: There will be players who vote kick and trash talk with or without parser. I would actually be extremely surprised, seeing that the amount of toxic players in this game is INCREDIBLY low, and most of them just throw a random tantrum and leave.you would be surprised the length toxic player would go in this game
I don't know what you mean by no one to compare myself to, they aren't even allowed and people post numbers for DPS everywhere, so there SHOULD be plenty of ways. And maybe very few would go to that extreme, but I run into PLENTY of toxic attitude players, but maybe that's just my luck.
Oh no my cheese!
It doesn't help to see that some random person on your job, in unknown gear, on a random encounter can hit XXXX DPS.
1) Gear does a lot.
2) Every encounter is different.
3) Other circumstances are different (what healer you have, what buffs/debuffs are used, who your tank is, how good your tank is, etc.)
4) It's not immediate feedback! When I go into a dungeon as DPS and see that the other DPS is doing more damage than I am, I will try harder! I want to be the higher one, I want to be main contribution to our damage, I want to make the enemies cry in terror! Just seeing that someone is able to push 1k DPS on a striking dummy, while I am at 850 DPS, doesn't help at all.
I'm fairly certain almost none would go to that extreme, and those few are toxic anyways, with or without a parser, and need to be dealt with in other ways, not prevent us from having nice things. And maybe very few would go to that extreme, but I run into PLENTY of toxic attitude players, but maybe that's just my luck.
And yeah, it has to be your luck, in the last 3 months I have met one actual toxic player, ONE. Sure I met a few quitters, but nobody who would actually insult anyone for any reason. And I ran with DPS that were pushing less damage than the healer!
