Pardon me if I've misread into your comment, but I don't see how the suggestion is disadvantageous to your bulk selling methods. If you'd like to sell in bulk to people, you could simply choose for the stack you place onto the market not to be split, and offer your discount accordingly. On the other hand, if you'd like people to have the choice to purchase the exact amount of items they need, you can choose your price and not offer a discount like you would for your bulk buys.

This way, it's a win-win situation for everyone, and offers the game some enhanced convenience to the market board.
