But you don't understand, they need things RIGHT NOW because their entertainment is more important than some overworked developers getting a vacation.
We already get far more content on a regular (and CONSISTENT) basis than pretty much any other MMO in existence. An extra month or month and a half isn't going to kill anyone, and if you're truly that bored and can't find a single thing to do, you can just go play something else in the meantime.
The 3.1 release date is what it is, I'm a little disappointed that I'll have to wait another 1.5-2 months for my new relic and 24-man but I'll live.
What I'm more interested in is are there any translations of the live letter around yet? I cant see one on the official forums at the moment but I'd like to see what they said and any new info on the new content
I don't want to compare to anything. I'm just disappointed the developers left us with nothing to do for 5 months.I'm curious as to which game it is that you're comparing FFXIV to, where 3 months is standard between patches of XIV's quality and they NEVER delay for 5 months (this is the first time we'll be five months between major patches, and that's if you don't include red scrips/Alex/Savage as a major patch).
Can't wait for the patch to drop and people no-life all that content, then come back and say, "there's nothing to do when is 3.2 coming".
Geez guys.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME
Oh, so, you're just having a moan/venting rather than expressing what you think are realistic expectations? Just checking (and genuinely NO sarcasm there, or anything like it - I mean, I was disappointed in the delay too, and moaned with my FC pals, but I at least don't feel that there's nothing to do and certainly understand that asking for more is not reasonable).
I have no problems with people having a moan. I just think people who genuinely believe this isn't up to standard need a reality check.

Clearly someone's never played other mmos. lets look at WoW's 5.4 lasted over a year, their average patch cycle is 6 months upwards. FFxiv has some of the quickest patch cycles to.5 months, man. 5 months break. 5 months of no content. And then we'll get 2 dungeons which are straight lines with 3 boring bosses and a bunch of boring trash in between.
People really are going to excuse this in the game they are playing and are paying for?
I understand there are no self-respecting customers among fanboys, but c'mon, even YOU should understand 5 months is a bit too long.
First of all, it's okay for people to be disappointed in the current state of the game and the proposed future content or release timeline.
Second, there's a big difference between having content to do and having content people want to do. You can try to sell people on any aspect of the game, but whether or not they ultimately find it appealing and worthwhile is an entirely different story.
It's important for the developers to get feedback from the players, which is what these forums are designed to do. It's okay to disagree, but let's not start trying to invalidate other peoples' views simply because you don't agree with them. They have as much right to be heard as you do.
Completely agree, but that's the same reason we have a right to debate it.It's important for the developers to get feedback from the players, which is what these forums are designed to do. It's okay to disagree, but let's not start trying to invalidate other peoples' views simply because you don't agree with them. They have as much right to be heard as you do.I think everyone's being really polite and civil towards each other in this thread, even when disagreeing, and it's really nice.

Now would have been the perfect time to add relics, to be honest
