I agree with you, I'm sure they deserve some time off. But if they plan on having long periods with no patches they should give people things to kinda grind towards. Ex roullette will only go so far. Overall I'm not upset because I'm still plugging away at the crafting stuff.
Do you have every job at L60, A4S done, full eso gear, full red scrip crafted gear max melded with Penta Vs, full TT card set, every mount, every minion, all glamour items, full airships in your FC? Not to mention a top tier chocobo.I agree with you, I'm sure they deserve some time off. But if they plan on having long periods with no patches they should give people things to kinda grind towards. If there's one thing there is not lacking at the moment, it's grind. xD
EDIT: I notice your last bit about you not being upset btw, this is more a general comment towards the 'grind' bit xD

But you don't understand, they need things RIGHT NOW because their entertainment is more important than some overworked developers getting a vacation.
We already get far more content on a regular (and CONSISTENT) basis than pretty much any other MMO in existence. An extra month or month and a half isn't going to kill anyone, and if you're truly that bored and can't find a single thing to do, you can just go play something else in the meantime.
I could care less about the patch release date. However, from a BUSINESS/CLIENT point of view, saying you'll delay product for one month because your team needs a vacation is just crap.
If Netflix sent you an email saying that you'll have no new releases for the next two months because their Acquisitions team will be off to relax would you be OK?
I haven't read the entire agreement we signed, and although I'm pretty sure a specified amount of time for content update is not in writing, delaying product because your team is taking a vacation is not something you say to costumers. Problem is probably Square Enix and not the XIV team though; from what it seems they are still a small team of super overworked people despite the huge success of this game.
Woah now, that's just crazy talk. Netflix doesn't add anything new for like 2-3 months :P They just recycle their "recently added" with stuff thats been on there for over a year
