In my opinion, I'd consider a bad player to be someone who doesn't at least know the basics of their class skills or can't learn mechanics when usually they are simple. Again my opinion.

I haven't been called "bad" much and I absolutely do not consider myself to be a bad player. I can learn mechanics and fight or heal flawlessly, but I can get caught in a lag spike that can cause my death and I don't have any control over it. Just last night I ran Snowcloak on BLM (my 2nd run of dungeon). First run I did fine on SMN, this time not so much. It was all fine and dandy till the last boss. Thanks to lag and not being able to reach the icicle in time because of miscalculating my position (was pretty frustrated in that fight anyway), I died...repeatedly. :/ I was rezzed each time which I honestly probably didn't deserve it. Near the end, the tank tells me "stop being bad". Which of course that made me feel even worse. I left immediately when I could. Gave no comm or cast my lot, just left.

In a way I find it rude to tell anyone they are being bad, you may hurt their feelings, but I know it won't stop anyone from saying it, because it's highly unlikely you'll see them again. Good thing most people like this, I probably won't see again. And none of these comments is going to stop me from enjoying the game.

My opinion on a "bad player". Anyone who makes no attempt to put any effort into their class, or the run, and who refuses to even listen when people offer advice......

I was healing a run of The Aery earlier, and I ran into a MCH in there. As a level 60 MCH main, I started paying attention to their attack patterns. In addition to the fact that they didn't use Lead Shot the entire run, they also made no effort to use their turret. At the start of the first boss, I mentioned that they should remember to use it, to which they replied "I know, I know", and after that mentioned that they were distracted by trying to pick a movie to watch. After that fight, the ONLY other time they used any turret for the remainder of the dungeon was when they finally threw it out during the last phase on Nidhogg right before he died. At one point right before the final boss, after noticing that they didn't use either Spread Shot or Grenado Shot on the giant group of adds, (instead sticking to using the very basic reload combo), I asked if they would mind me giving them any advice on the class. Their response was "no" followed by "I don't want your advice". At no point during the run had I been rude to them, and the rest of us had been having friendly conversations throughout, with the MCH joining in as well at times. This clearly indicated to me that this person either didn't care about doing learning their job at all, or that they didn't care about doing anything but the "bare minimum" in the run. It should also be mentioned that the DPS in this run was some of the lowest I've seen in quite a while, to the point that the weak adds had barely died before our BLM had to LB the large adds during the final fight. Players like this who make no effort are what I personally consider to be "bad players".....

A bad DPS = someone I can out DPS using my PLD in sword oath with vitality accessories.
A bad Tank = someone who doesn't know how to use cooldowns or can't hold threat for the life of them.
A bad Healer = Most of them. They are like all bad really.

A bad player for me is someone who doesn't play their class to it's full potential, ridiculing everyone, getting carried in content and not knowing their job at all. Attitudes are important for me as well when finding bad players we had a FC mate get their Rav EX clear the other night. She died a lot, she's attempted the fight, seen videos etc she died 3 times, we ended up clearing 7/8 easily. Was in voice chat with us just said thanks and left, not even another word to us since then. Was our fault bringing her for a clear but man does that sting.

    What is a BAD player?

    1. someone who says they are bored and say the game is in decline, when they only do 5% of available content ingame.

Scholars who never turn off cleric stance when the situation is clearly turning to shit, leaving me trying to keep myself alive with clemency while everyone else is dying or dead.

Dark knights who never turn on Darkside.

People that don't know how to adapt to changing situations, or rage quit after two minutes.

    Anyone with a bad attitude.

Also adding hardcore people who thinks everyone needs to play at their best 100% of the time and complain about normal content being added. TBH, they're not bad, just annoying. REALLY ANNOYING.

Playing as a BLM (iLvl 189 here) I definitely hate other BLM's due to the fact, whenever I have 6-7 Seconds of Enochian left and still under Astral Fire III, suddenly there is a Yellow Circle right under my Feet, I loose it and the other BLM is your Enemy number one.
How often did I got called "Bad" by this just because I rather dodge 4-5k Damage and pop the next Enochian in 10-15 Seconds? Very often ... Having Players in your Group with the same Job is a Blessing and a Curse.

One mistake in your Rotation and the World immediately just blew itself up LOL.

Well, it would be one who is bad at playing the game. So, bad at the interactive components of the game. One who doesn't respond well to the interactive components of the game.

A bot would be a bad player, they do not react, think, or change, they simply follow a series of pre-set commands. A good player reacts to the interactive components of the game. They can think and react properly. This leads them to change their rotations when doing low damage, healing players in a way that is more efficient, pulling hate off of non-tanks because they realize the dungeon goes faster as a result, and try to learn fight mechanics which allows them to succeed at the interaction.

Bad players do not actually play or interact with the game, they constantly push when the interaction demands they both push and pull. A good player recognizes this and interacts with the game.
