It is a big deal. Specifically the implications of the philosophies present.
You're tired of choices. I really don't hope you impart that philosophy onto the development team. That will absolutely kill this game.i've heard alot of them are challenging as well, bigger thing is that after you spent a day getting to them all, everyone else will spend a second porting there from you or another lol. ..yeah u'r choice? lol w/e i wouldn't waist a minute doing anything in a game everyone else isn't doing and i'm sure most are the same. they should bring back the idea's from ffxi for this part of the game. personally i'm tired of choices, there should only be one way about each thing even if there are both ideas in the game for 2 diff things. ...
but i don't have problem with no boat ride, instant ride is awesome ...sorry that is just a waist of time, first times are not, doing things 1-2 times is enough, then getting to do things a little more easier is cool. earn it then deserve it. run once, that is all, we play mmo's for years not 2-3months. witch is probably the amount of time waisted on riding boat by time u quit a 5year run><

Everyone's concept of wasted time is different. Some can easily waste time. Others have to grab moments here an there to be able to play. Some are away from the game for weeks on end and then can play for weeks straight. Some stay logged in until they're forced from the server for patch updates and maintenance. It's not that, would you people pay attention to what people are saying? People are going to teleport and insta port via airship everywheres and finish the little content we have now more quickly. Doesn't give a big incentive on traveling, and also shows that they are catering to the "I don't have enough time to play and walk" crowd. Your playing an MMO, you play when you can to waste time. Seriously.
Teleporting should have increased anima since we are having atleast 5 ways to travel. Walking, Chocobo, Airship, Ferry, and later Caravan. There really shouldn't be a need for teleports after 1.19, unless it's for a quick meetup or anything.
Providing avenues for all of these people to play the game will only help XIV not hinder it.

To Jynx:
Getting to any level relevant node is a walk in the park there are only like 6 that are pretty much impossible to get too without a massive death train due to forced encounters with rank 90 monsters. So you're complaining that there is a mix of content? I wholeheartedly disagree.
Otherwise getting the nodes is pretty much a 2 minute stroll from your nearest camp. The easy ones. Now if you had to actually go to each camp your damn self before being able to warp to it...then yeah thats some sort of slight challenge that I'm sure a good chunk of people would Q-Q about as well. It's a moot point isn't it. Since it's already so easy, why implement it? That's the definition of a timesink.
You can't please everyone, to the people who say "I Haz optionz!" Being able to skip that much content on a whim really does effect it for players on the other side of the fence. Sure I can walk, but where is the sense of accomplishment when I really could have just had Joe-Blow teleport me, and everyone else has the camp allready because of the "Options" they have. You can still say that for those 9 nodes. The camps don't need to be difficult to get to. That's like, saying "Where's the accomplishment from tracing the Mona Lisa." You'd be correct that there is little accomplishment in tracing the Mona Lisa. Being the first to paint it is an amazing accomplishment. Being able to recreate it by hand without tracing it is also commendable. Being inspired by it to create your own work is even more of an accomplishment.
I can't say F-YEAH! I just got the Mor-Dhona camps guys,Nope, but you can say you F-YEAH I got the node near camp Brittle bark guys. That content and sense of accomplishment is still there for you. The sense of accomplishment is still there for you if you aren't dependent on other people to verify your accomplishments. nobody is going to say "Allright man! Thats a rough trip!" they are gonna say "...so?"Yep, but your journey is an experience that is unique to you. Try to enjoy that.
There is no sense of reward for doing anything when there is a silver platter sitting beside you with the thing your laboring to get, everyone else gets it for free but you worked hard for it...why?This isn't real life. It's a game. My nephew likes to play games with cheat codes. I prefer not to. I am more accomplished than he is. I don't let him dictate my accomplishments because we want something completely different from our separate gaming experiences. This is why such easy-outs for the "Casual players" (I'm still doubting the validity of these casual players claims for the most part)You're right. I mainly want it in because I'm a hardcore player. Let it remain for the casuals. Adding it as a useless time sink does not make me feel more accomplished. makes any sense of accomplishment hollow.Again, only if you need others to reinforce your accomplishments. I prefer tackling hard obstacles together with a diverse group of people with different skillsets and abilities.
Would a Rajas ring feel just as cool if you talked to a quest NPC and you had these two options?
A: Time to start a series of quests that will make you beg/cry for mercy but when you finally finish them *Open shiny gold box* You get this! (Present Rajas ring)
B: Yo dawg, I heard you like rings so we put this Rajas ring in a ring for you to wear while you ring. (Gives Rajas ring)This is completely different than exploration. This is not the subject. This is a whole different subject. Easy access is not EZ modeing the game. Create difficult worthwhile content within the game world and the game will be hard. A person with all rank capped classes, no matter what job, is not an accomplishment that I applaud or acknowledge. The only exception to that would be XI with it's rank cap quests. I actually wish there was more level cap milestones to reach in the game that required skill. No one could fake the RDM Maat fight. You knew if you saw an RDM at 71 or above that the player earned it. Again that takes actual skill though. All the people who are rank capped in this game aren't accomplished. They just have a lot of time on their hands.
Game needs a sense of accomplishment right now their isn't much to really strive for.You don't need to implement timesinks in order to create this. They shouldn't do it now. They shouldn't do it in the future.
There are other things in the game to compare and contrast your accomplishments to verify yourself. Travel doesn't have to be one of them, even though it already can be and is in some instances.
You're English is fine. I think they should give players a reason to choose different transport methods beyond, "I need to go to this place". Having an airship battle, raising a chocobo, or fighting on your chocobo are all great ideas to me.There could be a Slow Mode ( maybe FFXI, as you say ), a Normal Mode and a Fast Mode ( like the one SE wants to implement ). I say that 10 minutes of wait plus 10 more minutes of route for the Ferry it's a huge amount of time, but on the other hand 1 second would be too little... Always exists a moderate way to make things!
P.S.
I hope my english is understandable.
Differentiate the different methods of transport by their journeys, not the speed to their destinations.

I still like the idea of "clearing a path" to the goal. I wish I would've done that on my way to some of the harder camps. Hopefully I can find a like minded new player to do that with. More than likely an RPer.I think im at 50/62 and have gotten all of them solo (including one my LS says is one of the 2 most difficult, Oakwood)... Lasthold is going to be challenging though.
Oakwood woulda been really easy with 1 person sac running the Smolenkos for me however... At -most- you only need 2 people to get all the nodes... ive gotten far enough to Lasthold solo to know 1 person sac running can get the 2nd close enough to make it there alive and if thats the most difficult one I have left the rest should be np to do w/2 since i've cleared all of Coerthas/Uldah/Mordana/Limsa solo
Oh South Bloodshore was fun too, had a train of ~14 L70 crabs on me. Abusing deflection and Aegis Boon is fun.... Sentinel/Quickstride isn't the only way to make it to these nodes.
